Explore the architecture of the complex: its main dome, four portals, calligraphy on the facades and the interiors of its halls.
Inspired by the Ulugh Beg Madrasah on Samarkand’s Registan Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the eastern portal serves as the main museum entrance. Its composition symbolizes the timeless pursuit of science and knowledge.
The façade carries ayahs and hadiths calling for learning, wisdom and spiritual perfection. Rising 37.7 meters high and spanning 33.7 meters wide, the portal features calligraphy in ancient thuluth and kufic scripts, including stylized kufi-bannai ornamentation.
