The opening of a miniature art school is being planned between the Center and TURKSOY

A delegation led by Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the Turkic Culture Organization (TURKSOY), paid a visit to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. The high-ranking guest was received by the Center’s Director, Firdavs Abdukhalikov.

During the visit, members of the delegation closely familiarized themselves with the Center’s exhibitions, library, children’s area, and the activities of other departments.

As is known, on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it is envisaged that special offices for various international and foreign organizations will be allocated on the second floor of the Center building. In particular, a dedicated space has also been set aside for TURKSOY. Members of the delegation reviewed the conditions of this office and emphasized that appropriate measures would be taken to enrich it with materials related to the history and activities of TURKSOY, as well as projects being implemented in cooperation with Uzbekistan. During the familiarization with the library’s activities, it was also announced that a separate area would be allocated there for TURKSOY.

In addition, the leadership of the Center and TURKSOY held discussions on further strengthening mutual cooperation, implementing joint projects, and exchanging experience.

Within the framework of the visit, Sultan Raev placed special emphasis on the significance of the Third Renaissance concept put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, noting that the Islamic Civilization Center is a practical embodiment of this lofty idea. In his view, such centers are rare in the world and play an important role in studying and promoting Islamic heritage in harmony with modern life.

“First of all, it should be noted that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Miromonovich, has put forward a very important and great concept — the idea of Uzbekistan’s Third Renaissance. As is known, there have been two great Renaissance periods in the history of Uzbekistan, during which the country’s spirituality, culture, architecture, and science reached a high level of development. Today, in the 21st century, Uzbekistan is continuing along this path of progress. The idea of the Third Renaissance is based прежде всего on national spirituality, culture, and historical heritage. The Islamic Civilization Center can truly be considered a practical expression of this idea. In my opinion, there is no analogue to such a center in the world. Today, the role of Islamic civilization is becoming increasingly important. We must study and promote Islamic heritage in harmony with modern life and the new world. From this point of view, this project is a very great and significant initiative. From the very first days, we signed a memorandum of cooperation between TURKSOY and the Islamic Civilization Center. Our relations are very well established. To date, a number of joint projects have been implemented. After the official opening of the Center, many more joint initiatives are planned,” said Sultan Raev.

Sultan Raev also noted that the memorandum of cooperation between TURKSOY and the Center has been effectively implemented from the very beginning and stated that a number of joint projects are planned for the future. In particular, discussions were held on strengthening cooperation between the miniature art schools of Uzbekistan and Turkey, and on establishing a joint miniature art school at the Center with the involvement of leading masters from Turkey.
