“It would take weeks to truly grasp the richness here!” — A British Lord amazed by the Center

Lord John Alderdice, the UK Prime Minister’s Special Trade Envoy to Central Asia and Azerbaijan, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan, visited the Center for Islamic Civilization. As he toured the exhibitions, the distinguished guest described the Center as “invaluable not only for Muslims around the world, but for all humanity.”

During the visit, the guest was welcomed by the Center’s Director, Firdavs Abdukhalikov. The delegation explored the Hall of Honor, the pre-Islamic period, the First and Second Renaissance, the history of the Great Silk Road, and rare manuscripts. It was particularly noted that the interactive solutions created with modern multimedia and artificial intelligence technologies present history in a vivid and compelling way.

Lord Alderdice emphasized that some artifacts had been brought from museums in the United Kingdom and expressed his inspiration at seeing them returned to their homeland. In his view, the Center serves as an important international platform that showcases the immense contribution of Islamic civilization to science, culture, and peace.

“In the West, many people do not fully understand how profound Islamic culture and thought truly are. This Center reveals that richness. It would take several weeks to fully comprehend the knowledge and values presented here,” said Lord Alderdice.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Center presented commemorative gifts to the guests. The British representative’s remarks once again confirmed the growing international prestige of the Center and its significance as a global intellectual platform.
