As part of the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur, new books were presented to the Center’s library

A new opportunity has been created to further deepen the study of Amir Temur’s legacy. A number of books dedicated to the history of the Timurid era and the life of the great commander have been donated to the library of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. These publications will enrich the Center’s collection and serve as an important academic resource for researchers.

By the decision of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the 690th anniversary of the birth of the great commander and statesman Amir Temur will be widely celebrated in the country. In this regard, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan has developed and is implementing a series of measures, including organizing scientific conferences, publishing new books, studying sources related to the Timurid period, and presenting them to the broader public.

Within this process, Muhammad Ali, Chairman of the International Amir Temur Public Foundation, People’s Writer of Uzbekistan, and professor, donated a collection of books dedicated to the life and activities of Amir Temur, as well as a bust of the great commander, to the Center’s library. The collection includes scientific and historical works focusing on Amir Temur’s governance, military art, the culture of the Timurid period, and its historical heritage.

In addition, during the selection of books for the exhibition dedicated to Amir Temur, Muhammad Ali, Chairman of the International Amir Temur Public Foundation, and Umida Teshaboyeva, Director of the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan, took part and provided their recommendations.

The donated books will further enrich the library’s collection and hold significant academic value for readers, students, and researchers interested in the history of the Timurid era.

Muhammad Ali, Chairman of the International Amir Temur Public Foundation, People’s Writer of Uzbekistan, Professor:

The Center is highly impressive and modern, and its library serves as an important hub of knowledge for scholars. We have donated a number of publications to the library collection, created on the basis of the most reliable sources about Amir Temur and the Timurid period, as well as the results of many years of research. We are also ready to continue cooperation in further enriching both the library collection and the exhibitions.

At the same time, the bust of Amir Temur has been installed at the top of a special shelf in the Center’s library dedicated to works on the legacy of the great ruler. This has further enhanced the artistic appearance and content of the exhibition.

An interactive screen installed next to this shelf also presents information about the Presidential decision on celebrating the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur’s birth. This provides visitors with the opportunity not only to explore literature about Amir Temur but also to gain broader insight into the scientific and cultural events being held as part of the anniversary.

Ravshan Qodirov, Head of the Library and Archival Documents Department of the Center, emphasized the academic significance of these publications for the Center’s collection.

“Today, interest in studying the history of Amir Temur and the Timurid period is steadily growing. These publications donated by the International Amir Temur Public Foundation will further enrich the library’s collection. Most importantly, they will help readers, students, and researchers visiting our Center gain a deeper understanding of Amir Temur’s personality, his governance, military art, and historical legacy.”

According to experts, the addition of new literature and scientific sources on the Timurid period to the library’s collection will strengthen the Center’s academic foundation and serve as a valuable resource for further developing research in the field of Timurid studies.
