A scientific conference dedicated to Amir Temur will be held
From April 9 to 11, an international scientific conference dedicated to the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur’s birth will be held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. Organized at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, this event will become a major international platform for discussing the role of Amir Temur and the civilization of the Eastern Renaissance in world history and culture.
The conference will bring together more than 300 participants from over 20 countries, including leading scholars, experts, diplomats, and representatives of the public. Among the invitees are representatives of international organizations and research centers, including ICESCO, the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, IRCICA, and the Al-Furqan Foundation.
The conference is organized by the Islamic Civilization Center, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event is also being held in cooperation with the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU).
Within the program, participants will discuss key aspects of the Timurid period, including governance and diplomacy, military art and strategy, architecture and urban planning, as well as the development of science, education, and culture. Special attention will be given to the influence of Amir Temur’s legacy on the formation of world civilization, politics, and economics.
The conference program also includes a visit to the Islamic Civilization Center, thematic exhibitions, a screening of the feature film “Amir Temur and Donna Maria,” a mapping show, and the theatrical performance “Wedding in Konigil.”
At the conclusion of the conference, scientific recommendations will be developed, and a roadmap aimed at further studying and promoting the great Timurid heritage will be adopted. During the closing ceremony, memorandums of cooperation will be signed between the Islamic Civilization Center and a number of leading international scientific and cultural organizations.
The holding of this conference will be an important step in strengthening international academic dialogue and promoting Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage to the global community.
