The library of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan has officially opened
The modern library established at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan has officially begun serving readers, researchers, students, and all those interested in knowledge and scholarship.
The Center’s library is a contemporary educational space designed for reading, conducting academic research, working with international sources, pursuing independent learning, and implementing collaborative projects.
Library membership is available for individuals aged 14 and above. To register, users must present an identity document such as a passport, ID card, residence permit, or driver’s license. Users aged between 14 and 16 may become members by providing a birth certificate along with identity documents belonging to their parents or legal guardians.
The reader ID card issued by the library, which remains valid for two years, grants users access to the library’s information and resources.
According to Ravshan Qodirov, Head of the Archives and Library Department at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, the library’s collections and technical infrastructure have been developed in accordance with the standards of modern information and library services.
“Today, the library collection includes more than 40,000 printed publications, over 3,000 rare manuscripts and lithographic sources. Users also have access to more than 10 million digital resources through local and international electronic databases. The library is capable of serving 310 readers simultaneously and is equipped with more than 20 types of modern technological equipment imported from countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Finland, South Korea, and China. This helps create a comfortable, innovative, and efficient learning environment for readers,” said Ravshan Qodirov.
The Center’s library features scientific and foreign literature halls, a scholars’ room, individual study spaces, a coworking area, a specially designed room for persons with disabilities, as well as a green outdoor reading area.
Within these spaces, readers can use printed and electronic resources, work with international academic databases, obtain bibliographic information, and engage in independent or collaborative scholarly activities.
In addition, the library has been equipped with modern service technologies, touchscreen panels, infokiosks, soundproof cabins, book sterilization equipment, and other user-friendly facilities.
The library operates according to the following schedule:
Monday – Friday: 09:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Saturday: 09:00 AM – 06:00 PM
Sunday: Closed
The first membership registrations have already been completed at the Center’s library. The initial readers familiarized themselves with the library’s facilities and officially received reader ID cards granting access to the library’s information resources.
The doors of the Center’s library are open to everyone striving for knowledge. All necessary conditions have been created here for reading, academic research, discovering new knowledge, and becoming more closely acquainted with our spiritual and cultural heritage.
