The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) presented a landmark scholarly publication titled “Imam Bukhari’s Al-Jami’ al-Musnad as-Sahih: The Book of the Ummah. The Scientific Symbol of the Civilization of Isnad and Verification,” Dunyo News Agency reported.

Leading scholars and researchers from 16 countries contributed to the preparation of the volume.

The publication was compiled on the basis of the proceedings of the International Scientific Conference “Imam Bukhari’s Al-Jami’ as-Sahih – The Book of the Ummah,” held in Samarkand on 9–10 July 2026. The conference was jointly organized by the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, and ICESCO.

Spanning nearly 800 pages, the book is regarded as one of the most comprehensive contemporary studies dedicated to the rich scholarly legacy of the great hadith scholar Imam Bukhari. It brings together academic articles on the science of hadith, the history of Islamic scholarship, and the methodology used to verify the authenticity of hadith.

The publication explores the historical and intellectual environment in which Imam Bukhari lived and worked, his unique methodology for selecting and classifying hadith, as well as contemporary academic research, discussions, and analyses devoted to Sahih Bukhari.

The release of this landmark publication is expected to further strengthen international academic cooperation in the field of Islamic studies and once again confirms Uzbekistan’s growing position as one of the world’s leading centers for the study and promotion of Imam Bukhari’s scholarly legacy.
