At the international media forum, the Chairman of the Board of Mega Basim Publishing House put forward an important initiative
Hasan Kondu, Chairman of the board of Türkiye’s Mega Basim publishing house, described the international media forum held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan as an important beginning, noting that its true value would be determined by the practical results that follow.
Hasan Kondu, Chairman of the Board of Mega Basim Publishing House:
A truly magnificent work, a remarkable complex, has been created here. I have been following the progress of the work here from the very beginning. However, I did not expect the final result to be so grand and impressive.
I have visited many countries, but I have never encountered an Islamic center like this in any of them. Modern technologies and historical heritage have been integrated exceptionally well here. As a result, a truly unique and magnificent work has been created.
I congratulate President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his far-sighted efforts and the significant investment made in this project. I express my gratitude to him for this. May Allah be pleased with him.
Taking Türkiye as an example, how many people there actually know about a center like this? That is why greater attention should be paid to promoting the work being carried out here and introducing it to a wider public.
The international media forum held in Tashkent also served as an important platform for this purpose. However, the number of journalists and media representatives who can come here is limited. Therefore, they may not be able to fully convey what they have seen and learned here to a broad audience.
For this reason, I believe that replicas of the exhibits displayed here should be presented at major Islamic centers and leading cultural and academic institutions in Europe, and that exhibitions should also be organized in other countries.
The forum was very well organized and provided an effective platform for meetings and dialogue. But I would compare it to a seed: once a seed has been planted, it must bear fruit. In other words, it is important that the forum lead to concrete practical results.
I said this in my speech inside, and I would like to repeat it once again: the development and future of our peoples depend, first and foremost, on education.
I can see that significant work is being carried out here in the fields of education and science. Just yesterday, I spoke with colleagues at the university. Important work is being conducted across various fields of science. However, I do not believe that this is enough yet.
It is not enough simply to commemorate our great scholars such as Biruni, Ibn Sina, Ali Qushji, and Bukhari. The main task is to nurture a new generation capable of carrying forward their scientific and intellectual legacy. If we cannot find a way to nurture new Birunis, new Ali Qushjis, new Ibn Sinas, and new Bukharis among today’s youth, the work being carried out today will not fully achieve its true purpose.
Therefore, today’s efforts should serve as a foundation for this great goal.
I would like the President to establish a dedicated science center for young people. The first steps have already been taken. I believe that such a center should now be established to engage young people more extensively in science and to nurture a new generation of scholars like Biruni and Ibn Sina.
I am confident that this initiative will also be realized.
