Yemen’s SABA News Agency published an article on the speech delivered by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the ceremony held in New Tashkent to mark the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. The article noted that the Head of State emphasized that Uzbekistan is entering a new stage of development and stated that the next decade will be a decade of national progress. The President also announced the implementation of seven national programs aimed at investing in human capital, developing the economy, improving healthcare, protecting the environment, strengthening the rule of law, developing local communities, and promoting peace and tolerance.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the country stands on the threshold of a new stage of development. According to him, the next decade will be a period of national progress, and this goal will be achieved through the efforts, unity, and hard work of the people.

Speaking at the ceremony held in New Tashkent to mark the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Head of State warmly congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on this significant occasion.

“In the coming years, Uzbekistan will implement seven national programs aimed at investing in human capital, developing the economy, improving the healthcare system, protecting the environment, strengthening the rule of law, developing local communities, and promoting peace and tolerance,” the President said.

The President of Uzbekistan emphasized that young people are a decisive force in shaping the country’s future. He noted that 20–25 trillion sums are allocated annually to support them. He also highlighted that young people account for nearly 35 percent of the country’s entrepreneurial sector, as well as the achievements of Uzbek athletes and youth on the international stage.

The Head of State also praised the historic achievement of Uzbekistan’s national football team, which qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time. He noted the preparations underway to host the World Chess Olympiad in Samarkand for the first time, as well as chess player Javokhir Sindarov’s bid for the world championship title.

The President emphasized that Uzbekistan will consistently continue its open, pragmatic, and peace-oriented policy aimed at ensuring sustainable development and further strengthening its reputation as a country of peace, friendship, and tolerance.

The Head of State noted that holding one of the country’s most important celebrations in New Tashkent added an even more uplifting spirit to the occasion. He expressed confidence that New Tashkent would further enhance the beauty of the capital and become a genuine center of development showcasing the potential and strength of New Uzbekistan.

The President emphasized that the people of Uzbekistan achieved state independence in 1991 through their own free will and determination, noting that the roots of this great independence extend back more than three thousand years to traditions of statehood and ancient civilization.

According to him, independence enabled the people to restore their dignity and status, their sacred religion, their native language, and national values that had been fading into oblivion.

During the ceremony, tribute was paid to the memory of the great ancestors and enlighteners who sacrificed their lives for the freedom enjoyed today. The contributions and courage of all compatriots who helped strengthen the country’s independence and are no longer with us were also highly honored.

The ceremony also paid profound tribute and respect to the memory of Islam Abduganiyevich Karimov, the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a prominent statesman and political figure.

The Head of State emphasized that the greatest significance of independence is reflected, above all, in human dignity, individual freedom, and the right to a decent life.

The President stressed that Uzbekistan must become a hub that offers the world advanced initiatives in the field of technology, while the Uzbek language should become a language for creating science and technology in the digital world.

The Head of State described the youth of New Uzbekistan as the country’s greatest asset and the decisive force shaping its future.

“Our country is entering an entirely new stage of development. The next decade will be a decade of national progress for us,” the President said.

He emphasized that this goal would be achieved through the intellect, hard work, and unity of the people.

“Our country’s open, pragmatic, and peace-oriented policy is contributing to long-term development. Historic achievements have been made in expanding good-neighborly relations, strategic partnerships, and friendship in Central Asia. Relations with the Commonwealth of Independent States, the European Union, the United States, countries of the Asia-Pacific region, and the Arab and Islamic world have been further strengthened,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

During the ceremony, the President expressed his gratitude to members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of foreign media, as well as high-ranking guests from the United States, Türkiye, and Singapore, for their fruitful cooperation.

At the conclusion of his speech, the Head of State addressed the people with confidence, saying:

“Today, we are stronger than we were yesterday, and, God willing, tomorrow we will be even stronger than we are today. Our 35 years of independent development have demonstrated one truth: when the people and the state unite around a common goal and work wholeheartedly, there is no goal that cannot be achieved.”

The President called on his compatriots to build a new life and a great future together as one people and one nation. He expressed firm confidence that the people, through their determination, hard work, and unity, would create the country’s golden age and write a new chapter in its great history.

The Head of State concluded his speech by paying tribute to the people of Uzbekistan, the true creators and builders of independence:

“Long live the Republic of Uzbekistan! Long live the people of Uzbekistan!”
