Dr. Eman Al Amri, Director of Al Jazeera Media Institute, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, where she explored the Center’s museum exhibitions, rare historical sources, and presentation spaces created using modern interactive technologies.
During the visit, the guest was introduced to the centuries-old scholarly and educational heritage of Islamic civilization, the contributions of great scholars from the land of Uzbekistan to world civilization, and the Center’s concept of presenting historical sources through modern museum technologies.
The museum exhibitions, which bring together manuscripts, historical works, scientific discoveries, and interactive solutions, made a strong impression on Dr. Eman Al Amri.
“What I saw at the Center was truly remarkable. Here, one can feel that Islamic culture is presented in its authentic essence. You do not merely see this culture — you experience it. The journey from the history of Islamic civilization to Uzbekistan’s vision of development in the new era is presented in a highly harmonious and compelling way,” said Dr. Eman Al Amri.
She also placed particular emphasis on the idea behind the Center and its significance in preserving, studying, and transmitting historical heritage to future generations.
“I believe there is a broad vision and a clear purpose behind this Center. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s attention to preserving culture, historical heritage, and the scholarly legacy of Islamic civilization is clearly reflected here. Uzbekistan is not only safeguarding its history, but also presenting it in new ways for future generations and audiences around the world,” she emphasized.
The guest also paid particular attention to the Center’s approach to presenting historical heritage through modern technologies and its importance for the younger generation.
“I was especially impressed by the interactive screens that tell the story of ancient Uzbekistan. There, you do not simply receive information — you experience history. While preserving the legacy of the past, this place also serves as a source of knowledge and inspiration for the new generation. Young people should come here, learn about their culture and history, and take pride in their heritage,” she said.
At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Eman Al Amri was presented, on behalf of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, with the book “The Third Renaissance” and commemorative gifts. The publication provides a comprehensive overview of Uzbekistan’s rich historical heritage, the scholarly and educational contributions of its great scholars, and the country’s new stage of development.
The visit contributed to introducing Uzbekistan’s rich civilizational heritage to an international audience and demonstrating the harmony between history and modern communication.
