To support talented students in Uzbekistan, it is proposed to introduce the Amir Temur State Scholarship starting from the 2027/2028 academic year. For now, this initiative is envisaged in a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Students studying in the final two years at state, non-state, and foreign higher education institutions, as well as those enrolled in joint education programs, may be eligible to apply for the scholarship. It is proposed that one scholarship be allocated to each higher education institution.
đź“Ś Applicants are required to:
— maintain excellent academic performance;
— engage in scientific or creative activities;
— participate in conferences and competitions;
— have knowledge of the history of Uzbekistan and the state language;
— be proficient in at least one foreign language;
— dedicate their graduation thesis to the legacy of Amir Temur and the Timurids, or have published at least two academic works in this field.
According to the draft, applicants recommended for the next stage of the selection process will be required to upload their documents annually through the my.edu.uz system between September 5 and 15.
It is also proposed that scholarship recipients, within one year of completing their bachelor’s degree, be admitted to full-time master’s programs without competition and on the basis of an additional state-funded grant.
Note: For now, these requirements remain proposals contained in the draft resolution. The final procedure will be determined once the relevant resolution is adopted.
