Islamic Civilization Center attracts international museum experts
Today, museums are no longer merely places that store historical objects or display exhibits. They are becoming modern spaces of enlightenment that unite scientific research, education, cross-cultural dialogue, and digital technologies.
These developments are also among the main topics in international museology, developing valuable opportunities for international specialists to exchange experience. More than 20 museum professionals participating in the international conference titled “Museology in the 21st Century: Research, Traditions and Innovations” visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
Through the Center’s exhibitions, the guests explored the centuries-old scientific, cultural, and educational heritage that developed in the territory of Uzbekistan, historical sources, and presentations created using modern technologies.
During the visit, museum professionals were able to exchange insights on approaches to organizing exhibitions, working with visitors, and introducing new technologies, in addition to showcasing historical heritage.
Today, museums around the world are adapting their activities to the demands of the times and creating new opportunities for visitors. Engaging young audiences, using digital content, creating an accessible environment for visitors with disabilities, and developing scientific research are among the pressing areas of modern museology.
Another aspect that attracted the attention of international specialists was that the Islamic Civilization Center’s activities extend beyond museum exhibitions. In addition, they were introduced to the possibilities the Center offers for conducting research, examining historical sources, cooperating with experts, and carrying out educational projects.
Participant of the international conference, Rida Raisovna, Head of the Archaeology Department at the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan, shared her impressions of the center.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the creation of such an exceptional institution, which fosters a deeper understanding of Islam and its rich intellectual history. The Islamic Civilization Center bridges historical legacy with modern interactive methods, playing an inspiring role in educating the younger generation. A visit to the Center feels like a journey back through the centuries, into the legacy of the great imams and scholars of Uzbekistan. The way information is presented is able to draw visitors, especially young people, to visit the Center repeatedly. It holds great value for tourism and science, and stands as an invaluable spiritual treasure of Uzbekistan,” said Rida Raisovna.
The visit of international specialists to the Center once again highlighted the importance of preserving historical heritage, making it accessible to a global audience, and effectively using new technologies in modern museum practice.
