On 31 August 1991, at an extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the state independence of the country was declared, and the “Uzbek SSR” was officially renamed the “Republic of Uzbekistan”. On the same day, the Law “On the Foundations of State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was also adopted.

When we turn the pages of classical Uzbek literature, the names of male Sufi poets are mentioned far more often. The works of Sufi leaders and mystics have been studied for many years, enriched with books and articles. However, in this process, female Sufi poets, their spiritual quests, and their poetic heritage have often remained overlooked. Their collections were lost, manuscripts scattered, and some were never preserved at all.

Central Asia held a distinguished place in history during the 11th–13th centuries as one of the great centers of civilization and art. The legacy of the Seljuk dynasty of that era was expressed not only in monumental architecture but also in the objects of applied and decorative arts.

The State Customs committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan has confiscated 325 ancient coins, jewelry, and artifacts that were intercepted while being illegally smuggled out of the country. In accordance with regulations, these items have been temporarily entrusted to the museum collection of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
