Love for knowledge and enlightenment, along with the pursuit of virtue, were values elevated to a way of life in medieval Eastern societies. Through the work and legacy of scholars nurtured in this spirit, modern science comes to understand its own roots. Today, one of the primary missions of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is the search for and re-examination of such forgotten yet scientifically significant sources.

Delhi — 17th century. Capital of the great Baburid Empire. It was here, in 1695, that Russian traveler and diplomat Semyon Malenky visited the court of Sultan Aurangzeb. During his stay, he observed the administration, cultural life, and customs of the empire, recording his impressions in his travelogue. Among these records, he included a highly significant document: a royal decree written in Turkic (Old Uzbek).

The development of the museum exposition at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is nearing its final phase. Intensive work is underway to ensure each section is presented accurately and scientifically, following a clear historical chronology and with properly curated placements of exhibits.

A discussion session dedicated to the “New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance” section was recently held at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. The meeting gathered the Center’s leadership, representatives from the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, relevant ministries and agencies, historians, independent researchers, as well as specialists from Russia’s leading design companies “Sila Sveta” and “Planet 9”. The session focused on enhancing the section’s concept, visual solutions, and exhibition content.
