On behalf of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the author Qudratilla Rafiqov for his profound analytical article titled “Alamim Bor” published in Ishonch newspaper, dedicated to the history of Uzbekistan and the opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization.

Of course, the title given to the article may seem to give the overall content a somewhat somber tone. However, there is no reproach in it at all. We are far from any intention of condemning the past or harboring resentment toward those who came before us. Moreover, in order to appreciate the value of our bright present and our current achievements, there is no need to deliberately search for examples in the dark corners of history. At this point, a natural question arises: if everything is as it should be, then why the pain?

At the Center of Islamic Civilization, the priceless heritage of our great ancestors awaits you. The sacred pages of the Uthman Qur’an, the justice-based principles of the Temur Tuzuklari, the eternal works of Navoi… If books could speak, what lessons would the “Uthman Qur’an” share? Which laws would the “Temur Tuzuklari” remind us of? Every manuscript whispers a mysterious story of the past.

Khwaju Kermani’s renowned epic Humay and Humayun is considered a true gem of Timurid-era manuscript art. The work was copied in Herat in 1437 during the reign of Shahrukh Mirza and is now preserved in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Paris.
