A historic presentation will be held at the United Nations
At a meeting held with the participation of the Director of the Center, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, the Director of the Imam Bukhari International Research Center, Shovosil Ziyodov, the Director of the Imam Maturidi International Research Center, Komiljon Shermuhammedov, the Director of the Imam Tirmidhi International Research Center, Muzaffar Joniyev, as well as staff of the Center, issues related to the implementation of this task were discussed.
The Director of the Center, F. Abdukhalikov, reported that the concept of the presentation had been developed during the past period. In this regard, it was determined that it is necessary to develop an action plan for measures to be implemented in the near future in this direction and to prepare a relevant briefing note on matters related to holding the presentation.
At the same time, it was noted that the Islamic Civilization Center has organized special exhibitions dedicated to the scholarly and spiritual heritage of great scholars — Imam Maturidi, Imam Bukhari, and Imam Tirmidhi, and that a series of video clips titled “Whispers of Wisdom” has been produced with the participation of the renowned Hollywood actor Ben Kingsley.
In addition, it was noted that, in cooperation with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, a book titled “Dostoinstva Proroka” dedicated to the life and activities of Imam Tirmidhi has been prepared, that a book-album dedicated to the life and scholarly heritage of Imam Bukhari is being prepared, and that there is a need to prepare book-albums dedicated to Imam Maturidi and other scholars.
It was also reported that a series of video clips about the activities of the Center is being produced in cooperation with reputable international media outlets, including Euronews, CNN, BBC, and other film companies.
The Director of the Imam Maturidi International Research Center, Komiljon Shermuhammedov, emphasized the need to form a separate working group involving representatives of the Centers (Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Tirmidhi) in order to comprehensively develop the presentation concept and implement all other necessary measures.
The Director of the Imam Bukhari International Research Center, Shovosil Ziyodov, stressed that, given the need to prepare for the presentation within a short time frame, it would be appropriate to structure the information on the basis of academically grounded materials.
According to Firdavs Abdukhalikov, in organizing this presentation it would be appropriate to involve the Islamic Heritage Foundation “Al-Furqan” in the United Kingdom and the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies as partners.
In addition, during the meeting, the issue of preparing special educational video clips for broadcast on local television channels in cooperation with research centers in connection with the month of Ramadan was also discussed. It was agreed to establish a special working group at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, consisting of representatives of the Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, Imam Maturidi research centers and staff of the Islamic Civilization Center, to prepare, review, and approve these video clips.
This initiative of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is one of the important projects aimed not only at conveying history and cultural heritage to a wide audience, but also at further strengthening the country’s standing on the international stage. The special presentation at the United Nations and the educational content to be produced for television channels will make it possible to present Uzbekistan’s rich scholarly and cultural heritage to the global community in a compelling and more vivid manner.
