A new phase is beginning on the tourism map

Although the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan has not yet been officially opened, it has already begun to attract the attention of tourism industry representatives. According to tourism experts, today’s traveler can no longer be impressed solely by a historical building or an ancient artifact. They seek a story; they want to see a historical connection with their people and their country. Against this backdrop, a new strategic destination is emerging in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector. The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is positioning itself as a new “magnetic point” on the country’s tourism map.

Nearly 130 tour operators operating across the republic visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan to familiarize themselves closely with its opportunities.

During the visit, tour operators explored the Center’s exhibitions, becoming acquainted with its interactive and innovative presentations, as well as the content of each section.

In particular, they noted that the Heavenly Horses of Fergana in the Pre-Islamic section, the globe of Abu Rayhan Beruni displayed in the First Renaissance section, the exhibition dedicated to the life of Mirzo Ulugbek in the Second Renaissance section, and the parts based on national values in the “New Uzbekistan — Foundation of the New Renaissance” section left a special impression on them due to the harmonious combination of historical heritage and modern technologies.

Zulkhumor Normatova, a tourism professional with 25 years of experience and head of a tourism company, said:

Seeing this Center filled us with joy. We felt proud witnessing the harmony of history and innovation in this place built at the initiative of our President. We read history in books, guides tell us stories, but here it is presented using modern artificial intelligence, which makes it even more impactful. We have visited many foreign museums, yet it is gratifying to see a center of this level created in our own country. Most importantly, historical processes are embodied in one place.

Rasya Jumanazarova, a tourism representative, noted:

From the moment you enter until the very end, our past and the roots of Islamic civilization are revealed here through clear evidence. The idea of the First, Second, and New Renaissance is presented consistently and comprehensively. I was reminded of certain exhibits I saw at the Louvre Museum in France. Copies of some of them are also present here. The miniatures and evidence reflecting centuries of history deeply moved me. This place is a great treasure of Uzbekistan.

Saodat Azizova, an employee of a tourism company, shared:

I could not hide my excitement. As I passed some of the exhibitions, tears came to my eyes. The presentation of the Timurid era and the images of queens through hologram and AI technologies is extremely impressive. This approach amazed me. In the future, I intend to include the Islamic Civilization Center among the first destinations in our tour routes.

After the tour of the exhibitions, the Director of the Center, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, held a meeting with the tour operators. During the discussion, tour operators received answers to their questions and expressed suggestions for further improving the Center’s activities.

In particular, proposals were made regarding the procedures for setting ticket prices for visitors. Suggestions also included introducing a separate discount system for tour operators, establishing procedures for ticket refunds or rescheduling in case of high-level guest visits, providing clear information about parking and entry-exit routes, creating opportunities for visitors to sit in one place while viewing certain presentations, and considering a discount mechanism for evening visits.

— The most interesting aspect for foreign guests is the historical interconnectedness between peoples. Therefore, special exhibitions have been created at the Center for tourists arriving from the United Kingdom, India, and other countries. Ten robot guides operate here, and information will also be available through audio guides and tablets. The Center will be open from 10:00 to 22:00. During the hot season, favorable conditions will be created for evening visits, and fairs and mapping shows will be organized. The most important issue is providing high-quality service. As our respected President has emphasized, a foreign guest who comes here should leave with deep respect for the Uzbek people, — said Director F. Abdukhalikov during the meeting.

At the conclusion of the dialogue, it was noted that the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is expected to mark the beginning of a new phase in the development of the country’s tourism sector.
