Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin: “The Center reveals the contribution of Islamic civilization to science”

A delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Turchin, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. The guests were accompanied by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, the Director of the Center, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, and Academician Akbar Hakimov. The distinguished visitors toured the sections dedicated to the Pre-Islamic Period, the First Renaissance, the Second Renaissance, and the Foundation of the New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance.

They were deeply impressed by the exhibitions reflecting Uzbekistan’s 3,000-year history, including historical artifacts and interactive presentations. The Prime Minister of Belarus emphasized that the establishment of such a center demonstrates the leadership of Uzbekistan’s commitment to history, cultural heritage, and the study of the legacy of great ancestors.

Through the Pre-Islamic Period exhibitions, the guests had the opportunity to observe the development of various civilizations and their creative and scientific achievements. In the halls of the First and Second Renaissance, information was presented about unique exhibits related to Amir Temur and the Timurid era, miniature art, and architectural monuments. The New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance section and the Hall of Glory further enhanced the museum’s appeal through modern media technologies and interactive displays.

During the visit, the delegation also received information about efforts to search for cultural heritage objects lost in foreign galleries and auctions, as well as issues related to international cooperation.

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation highly praised the organization of the Center’s exposition, its content and educational value, and its significance in presenting Uzbekistan’s cultural and scientific heritage. The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan was recognized as an important venue for international cooperation, cultural diplomacy, and the preservation of national cultural heritage.

“This complex, on the one hand, is a comprehensive and thoughtfully designed ensemble, and on the other hand, it brings a person face to face with great civilizations that have reached us from the depths of thousands of years. It is difficult to describe in a single word the emotions that arise here. The museum is truly impressive and meaningful. In my opinion, it should be opened as soon as possible. The more people become acquainted with this exposition, the deeper they will understand the true essence of Islamic civilization and its immense contribution to science and progress. Yesterday we were in Samarkand, where we also received rich historical information. Today, what we have seen and heard has formed a coherent and holistic impression. Such knowledge and impressions remain in a person’s memory for a long time, encouraging deeper reflection and understanding. I wish Uzbekistan a Third Renaissance. May it be strong and enduring. Today your country is developing at a rapid pace, and your people are eager for knowledge and enlightenment. I am confident that your progress will reach even greater heights. My impressions of the Center are very high. Today we also met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During our discussion, a number of important issues were addressed. I was deeply impressed by the scale and significance of the work being carried out at the initiative of the head of state. Such large-scale and strategically important projects undoubtedly serve the future of the country. I am confident that the contribution of the head of state to the creation of such unique and invaluable institutions will remain significant in the future as well,” said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Turchin.

Afterwards, the two sides discussed prospects for future cooperation and cultural exchange.
