A recommendation from the President, a practical response from the youth

26.02.2026, 13:111252

“This is a place young people must definitely visit.” President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s call regarding his visit to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan brought together thousands of young people from across the country at one focal point.

At the Koksaroy residence, during a meeting with representatives of more than 60,000 young people who participated via studios from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the regions, and the city of Tashkent, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about the establishment of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. He emphasized that this complex serves as an important space for the younger generation to understand historical memory, national identity, and spiritual heritage, and noted that young people should certainly visit it.

“If every young person, every citizen of Uzbekistan, goes and sees it, they will return with a renewed understanding of our great ancestors’ legacy and a sense of pride in who we are as a nation. Of course, young people must visit this place,” the President said.

Following this call, young people visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and became acquainted with the museum’s main exhibition sections. The sections dedicated to the pre-Islamic period, the early and medieval eras, the First and Second Renaissance periods, and the development of New Uzbekistan presented a coherent and continuous panorama of historical processes. The exhibitions, organized with modern technologies, further strengthened young people’s interest in history.

Abdulaziz Mominov, Deputy Director of the Youth Affairs Agency:

During the open dialogue with young people, our esteemed President specifically emphasized that it is essential to visit the Islamic Civilization Center. He noted that this Center reflects the history and rich heritage of Islam and, most importantly, represents the identity of the Uzbek people. He also raised the issue that, following the meeting, the first place young people should visit ought to be the Islamic Civilization Center.

We, the youth, received this with great enthusiasm and visited the Center. During the visit, we saw that the processes from the emergence of the Islamic era through the First and Second Renaissance periods up to the era of New Uzbekistan are gathered in one place. The rich history of our ancestors is expressed in an exceptionally comprehensive and impressive manner. Every young visitor entering this place is provided with all the conditions to instantly visualize historical knowledge, respect for our ancestors, love for the Motherland, and the path our civilization has taken.

The fact that everything is concentrated in one place gives this Center special significance. In the near future, our esteemed President also announced that the official opening ceremony of the Islamic Civilization Center will take place. We believe that after the opening, visits by our people, our youth, and the broader public will be on a large scale. This place will be promoted by word of mouth, and everyone who visits will become an advocate of the knowledge and impressions they gain here.

Through a 3D map dedicated to the Great Silk Road, immersive video presentations, and interactive exhibitions, young visitors had the opportunity not only to observe history but to experience it. It was emphasized that such an approach transforms historical knowledge into an emotional experience and deepens the process of self-awareness.

Lobarxon Jalolova, recipient of the Zulfiya State Prize and Chair of the International Youth Eco Committee:

It would not be an exaggeration to say that the meeting with our Head of State was one of the most historic meetings. During the meeting, the President introduced a number of new initiatives, benefits, and important proposals for young people. At the conclusion of the meeting, he emphasized that the first necessary step in promoting these ideas and initiatives among youth is to visit the Islamic Civilization Center and begin the journey there.

We visited the Center as a youth delegation. Although it was my first time here, I had heard many warm opinions about this place from others. It was described as a space that brings history to life, and during today’s visit I became fully convinced of this.

History truly comes alive here. Through exhibits, multimedia materials, and AI-powered presentations, it feels as though the past and the future converge in one space. The intersection of history and the future is clearly felt here.

I am from the Navoi region, and I know that the remains of Raboti Malik still exist. However, I had never imagined it in such a majestic and complete form. Seeing the model created based on the original appearance of Raboti Malik at the Islamic Civilization Center and witnessing how vividly and accurately history is represented left me sincerely amazed.

It would not be wrong to say that the history I once read about in books came alive before my eyes today.

Laylo Aslonova, Chair of the Youth Parliament under the Senate of the Oliy Majlis:

I must say that before entering, I did not expect to receive such a powerful impression.

At first, we thought we would simply walk through a regular museum and look at the exhibits. However, the opportunity here to engage with each exhibit interactively, to touch them, and to immerse oneself in the atmosphere of the era truly amazed me. Last year, when I visited a museum in London and saw such interactive methods, I wished we had similar opportunities at home. Today, seeing even more beautiful, more magnificent, and most importantly, highly engaging exhibitions for young people at the Islamic Civilization Center felt as though that wish had come true.

The museum is divided into four periods, and here one can study the history of Uzbekistan not from school textbooks, but by coming directly to this place and experiencing each stage and era as if living in that time. In my opinion, even one day is not enough to fully explore it.

According to the youth, the Islamic Civilization Center provides a profound opportunity to understand the incomparable role of our ancestors in the history of science, culture, and intellectual thought. This place fosters a sense of continuity between the past and the future and inspires young people to strive toward new horizons.
