ROSATOM representative: “A great and timely project”
Recognized by the international community as another historic achievement of Uzbekistan in the restoration of cultural heritage, the Islamic Civilization Center impressed representatives of the delegation from the State Atomic Energy Corporation of the Russian Federation, Rosatom, with its scientific, cultural, and interactive capabilities.
The Rosatom delegation’s visit began in the Hall of Honor, after which the guests toured the sections dedicated to the Pre-Islamic period, the First and Second Renaissances, as well as “New Uzbekistan — The Foundation of a New Renaissance.” The rare sources preserved in the Center’s library and the modern multimedia solutions made a particularly strong impression on the delegation members.
The representatives acknowledged the complex as an important platform for understanding the shared historical and spiritual heritage of the peoples of Central Asia.
Elena Mironenko, Director General of the ATOM Foundation:
As both a museum professional and a cultural expert, I am deeply impressed by this tremendous work carried out by the Government of Uzbekistan. I consider this Center to be one of the most modern scientific and cultural museums in the world today. Here, new technologies are seamlessly integrated with tradition. I believe that once the Center opens, every museum specialist should visit this place.
Yulia Uzhakina, Director General of the Rosatom Corporate Academy:
The Islamic Civilization Center is a great and timely project. From the moment you step into the Hall of Glory, it amazes you. The history of civilization is presented with care and respect, which deserves special recognition. This is a source of pride for the younger generation. The “cotton installation” and the jewelry pieces displayed in the Pre-Islamic period section of the museum left a strong impression on me.
Sergey Sidorov, Deputy Director General of the FESCO Transport Group for Cooperation with Government Authorities and External Relations, described the Center as “a fantastic and indescribable place”:
To truly understand civilization and gain a deep appreciation of the region’s culture, one must first come here. I lived in Samarkand for a long time, so I was particularly impressed by the section dedicated to Amir Temur and the history of Samarkand.
As part of the visit, the delegation members also met with Firdavs Abduhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. During the discussion, prospects for international cooperation, joint programs, and the development of cultural exchanges were addressed. The parties emphasized the importance of expanding dialogue between scientific and cultural institutions and strengthening sustainable partnerships.
It is worth noting that the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is taking shape as a spiritual bridge connecting the past, present, and future. Through its exhibitions, the Center presents not only national heritage but also universal human heritage based on a modern approach.
