“The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan can compete with European museums”
A delegation from the prestigious German organization focused on improving quality of life in developing countries and strengthening international cooperation — Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) — visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the Center’s officials provided the guests with detailed information about the scientific foundations of the exhibitions, the conceptual approach behind their creation, and the role of modern multimedia technologies.
As emphasized, the Center, which harmoniously combines rare manuscripts, historical artifacts, and digital technologies, functions not only as a museum but also as a platform for research, education, and international dialogue.
The archaeological findings in the “Pre-Islamic Period” section, materials related to ancient urban culture, and the immersive room generated particular interest among the delegation members. The environment created through visual and sound effects allowed guests to deeply experience historical processes.
In the First and Second Renaissance sections, the lives and scholarly legacy of great thinkers are presented in an interactive format, and it was especially noted that AI-generated visual materials vividly and impressively bring historical figures to life.
Madina Ishmuradova, GIZ Advisor:
I had heard a lot about this Center, but what I saw exceeded my expectations. The innovative approach and aesthetic environment truly impressed me. Each Renaissance section has its own distinct content. I would compare this Center to Dark Matter Berlin — where a powerful atmosphere is created through light and music. Here as well, modern technologies create an equally strong impression.
Daniel Trnka, Deputy Head of the Regulatory Policy Division at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), particularly highlighted the artificial intelligence technologies at the Center:
Such a fusion of history and modern technology is truly impressive. Through AI-generated videos, historical figures appear almost alive. I would certainly like to return here with my family.
The interactive elements are especially engaging for young visitors. Compared to the Arab World Institute in Paris, this Center is far more impressive in terms of modernity and scale.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation members highly praised the Center’s activities, recognizing it as a unique institution that presents spiritual values in a modern interpretation.
