The concept of an international presentation at the United Nations was discussed

28.02.2026, 21:561187
The concept of an international presentation at the United Nations was discussed

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Center, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, the Director of the Imam Maturidi International Research Center, Komiljon Shermuhammedov, representatives of the Imam Bukhari International Research Center, the leadership of the Tashkent Islamic Institute, officials from the Committee on Religious Affairs, and responsible staff members of the respective centers.

As noted, this initiative represents the practical implementation of a proposal put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. It aims to widely promote the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and the scientific legacy of the great scholars at the international level, highlighting their contribution to the development of global civilization.

It was emphasized that the main goal of the presentation is to demonstrate to UN member states and the international community the significance of the invaluable scholarly and spiritual heritage left by Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, and Imam Maturidi, as well as to reveal the essence of the religious and educational reforms being carried out in New Uzbekistan.

According to the concept, the presentation will be organized in a multi-format format. It will include conferences, forums, seminars, exhibitions of rare manuscripts and artifacts, presentations of books and albums, screenings of documentary and short films, as well as interactive installations based on modern VR/AR technologies.

In particular, international scientific conferences are planned under the themes: “The Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan – the Property of All Humanity,” “The Mystery of Spiritual Renaissance: The Truth of Hadith in the Legacy of Imam Bukhari,” “The Tirmidhi Phenomenon,” and “The Maturidi Doctrine and Global Ideological Stability.”

Within the framework of the presentation, separate pavilions dedicated to each scholar will be organized. The Imam Bukhari pavilion will feature an exhibition devoted to “Sahih al-Bukhari,” electronic models, and a map of his scholarly journeys. The Imam Tirmidhi pavilion will present models of rare manuscripts of “Sunan al-Tirmidhi” and “Shama’il al-Muhammadiyya,” a model of the pilgrimage site, and research materials. The Imam Maturidi pavilion will display models of the manuscripts “Kitab al-Tawhid” and “Ta’wilat al-Qur’an,” installations dedicated to the scholarly environment of Samarkand, and multimedia materials highlighting the principles of tolerance within the Maturidi doctrine.

A special exhibition titled “Returned Heritage,” presentations of digital platforms, and virtual tour projects are also planned as part of the program.

As we present the scholarly heritage of our great scholars, it is essential that foreign audiences first become closely acquainted with today’s Uzbekistan. The international community should be more widely informed about the educational and scientific reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan under the leadership of our respected President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It is precisely at the initiative of our Head of State that the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan was established. Today, it is important for us to promote the goals and objectives of this Center at the international level, — said F. Abdukhalikov while outlining the priority tasks defined during the meeting.

The fact that the leadership of all research centers has gathered today and that we are implementing projects jointly is no coincidence. The President’s important initiative to unite the scientific activities of our centers serves as a key foundation for this cooperation. In addition, working in unity in disseminating information about our efforts and ongoing projects plays a crucial role in increasing effectiveness, — said the Rector of the Tashkent Islamic Institute, Uygun Gafurov.

Special attention was also given to strengthening cooperation with mass media in the religious and educational sphere. Proposals were put forward to prepare television programs, documentary films, and special media projects to widely promote the activities of the centers and the legacy of the scholars.

The implementation of the presentation is planned to proceed in stages: refining the concept, conducting negotiations with international partners, preparing multimedia products, and ensuring a high-level presentation at UN Headquarters.

As emphasized, this international event will serve to present Uzbekistan’s rich history and spiritual heritage to the global community, to scientifically highlight the humanistic and tolerant essence of Islam, and to further strengthen the country’s international standing.
