The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is taking cooperation with the media to a new level
Memorandums of cooperation were signed between the Center and the country’s leading media outlets in order to introduce the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, built at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to the wider public and to widely promote its scientific and educational activities in both national and international information spaces. These agreements aim to deliver the Center’s activities to a broad audience through modern media platforms and to popularize the rich heritage of Islamic civilization.
At the beginning of the event, guests became acquainted with the museum exhibitions of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. During the tour, participants received detailed information about the scientific and educational environment being formed at the Center, unique exhibits demonstrating the centuries-old rich heritage of Islamic civilization, manuscripts, archaeological discoveries, and interactive exhibitions created on the basis of modern multimedia technologies. Information was also presented about the Center’s research activities, international cooperation projects, and initiatives planned for the future.
“While observing the central exhibition, I experienced very unique feelings. Usually, we imagine history through static exhibits in museums. It seems as if history belongs to the past and appears motionless. However, here you feel a completely different atmosphere. Here it feels as though one can live within history itself. In my opinion, this is the greatest difference between the Islamic Civilization Center and other museums and cultural institutions. Here a person feels the breath of history, senses its spirit, and feels as if walking within those eras. In fact, a person truly understands their history not only by studying it, but by feeling it and living through it. Often people say, ‘History is the past; it has already passed.’ But as our great ancestors said, in order to step into the future, a person must know their history. Anyone who wishes to imagine how they will live in the future must first understand their past. The Islamic Civilization Center creates exactly this opportunity. A visitor here feels as if they have experienced their own history and lived within it, and through that they define their future. In this sense, the Center greatly impressed me. It is a true spiritual space. Every detail here is imbued with spirituality. Everything is created with great intelligence and deep meaning. This is especially important for young people. Today our youth are very interested in learning their history, and we proudly acknowledge this. But they must understand this history even more deeply. In order for a person to find answers to the question ‘Who were you, who are you, and who do you want to become?’, they must walk through these exhibition corridors. They must stop before each exhibit, understand its essence, and reflect upon it. Because here culture, spirituality, history, art, literature, and music all come together to shape the soul of a nation. A nation becomes a nation through this soul. Otherwise, it would remain only a physical body,” said Vohid Luqmonov, Director of the “Ma’rifat” Creative Association of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan.
After that, a ceremony was held to sign memorandums of cooperation between the Center and media organizations. During the ceremony, a number of agreements formalizing strategic partnerships between the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and the country’s leading media institutions were signed. In particular, memorandums were signed with the “Dunyo bo‘ylab” TV channel, the “Dunyo” Information Agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the “Uzbekistan 24,” “Uzbekistan History,” “Uzbekistan,” and “Culture and Enlightenment” television channels.
These memorandums envisage the systematic coverage of the Center’s activities in national and international information spaces, the wide promotion of the scientific and cultural heritage of Islamic civilization, and the delivery of the historical and educational potential of our country to a broad audience through modern media tools.
“Today’s memorandum signing ceremony is an important step aimed at bringing mutual trust, strategic partnership, and long-term cooperation to a new stage. This collaboration will serve not only to widely cover the Center’s activities but also to present our country’s rich historical, scientific, and cultural heritage to the international community. Briefly speaking about the results, throughout 2025 the activities of the Center were actively covered across a wide information space. In total, 3,367 media materials were produced. Among them were 739 video materials, 2,422 articles, and 28 audio materials. In addition, 178 materials were published in foreign media outlets, widely promoting the Center’s activities at the international level. Television coverage was especially effective. Hundreds of reports and special programs were broadcast through channels such as Uzbekistan 24, Sevimli TV, Mening Yurtim, Madaniyat va Ma’rifat, and Uzbekistan History. This significantly strengthened the national and international importance of the Center’s activities. Now we would like to focus our attention on important future plans. First of all, the official opening ceremony of the Center is scheduled for March of this year. This event will be significant not only for our country but also for the entire international scientific and cultural community. In addition, 2026 is being designated as a particularly important year in the Center’s activities. Throughout the year, a number of prestigious international forums, scientific symposia, and cultural events are planned. In particular, April of this year will be dedicated, at the initiative of our country’s leader, to the deep study and wide promotion of the legacy of the great statesman, commander, and patron of science, culture, and art, Amir Temur,” said Gulnora Ganiyeva, Deputy Director of the Center.
Within the framework of cooperation, it is planned to produce television programs, documentary films, special reports, scientific and educational projects, multimedia content, and new media products for digital platforms. In addition, special media projects, series of programs, and analytical materials based on the Center’s exhibitions, rare manuscripts, archaeological findings, and scientific research are planned.
Furthermore, within the framework of this cooperation, wide information coverage of the scientific research carried out at the Center, international expeditions, exhibitions, conferences, and other important events will be ensured. It is also planned to prepare materials about the Center in several languages for foreign audiences and distribute them in the international information space.
As emphasized, these memorandums will serve to widely promote the Center’s activities, popularize the heritage of great scholars who made enormous contributions to the development of Islamic civilization, and further strengthen Uzbekistan’s prestige as one of the world’s centers of enlightenment and science.
“The Uzbekistan History TV channel has consistently covered the construction process of the Islamic Civilization Center and the eight years of effort and dedication invested in it. Now, through this Center, we have the opportunity to present every aspect and every chapter of our history to our people in a broader and more understandable way. We will certainly strive to make the most of this opportunity. A certain part, even a large portion, of our broadcast will be dedicated to the history reflected in the Islamic Civilization Center. We aim to present to our viewers the exhibitions, historical scenes, and spiritual heritage displayed here in a comprehensive manner. This Center should be visited several times; one should come back and see it again and again. Only then can a person more deeply understand who they are, their history, and their roots,” said Alisher Shoimov, Director of the Uzbekistan History TV channel.
At the end of the event, an open dialogue was held among the participants, during which representatives of the media shared their proposals and opinions on further expanding the coverage of the Center’s activities, implementing new media projects, and delivering scientific and educational content to a wider audience.
It was emphasized that these memorandums signed between the Center and media organizations will serve as an important step toward strengthening cooperation, widely promoting the rich historical and cultural heritage of our country, and delivering it to the global community.
