“A Georgian construction specialist: ‘The architecture very clearly expresses the purpose and idea of the Center”

The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, a place where Central Asia’s rich historical heritage harmoniously blends with modern technologies, is increasingly attracting the attention of foreign experts.

A delegation consisting of representatives of renowned construction companies from Italy and Georgia visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. They closely familiarized with the Center’s exhibitions.

One of the exhibits that drew the attention of the delegation was a ruler’s symbol featuring the image of a double-headed eagle, dating back to the 12th century in Central Asia during the era of the Seljuk Dynasty.

They also showed particular interest in jewelry items from the Seljuk period of the 12th century, as well as amulets, bracelets, earrings, and rings dating from the 9th–13th centuries.

The delicate patterns and ornaments on these artifacts encouraged the delegation members to examine them even more closely.

The guests also became acquainted with another rare historical artifact dating back to the 14th–15th centuries — a manuscript of the Qur’an copied by the calligrapher Umar Aqta on the order of Amir Timur.

This manuscript, as well as its replica prepared by Uzbek calligraphers, left a strong impression on the members of the delegation.

The members of the delegation showed particular interest in the section of the Center titled “New Uzbekistan – the Foundation of a New Renaissance.”

The video installation called “Tree of Life”, as well as video clips reflecting national traditions displayed there, created a warm impression on the guests.

The flag installation was also highly appreciated by the delegation. The symbolic elements within it, along with the movement of the composition and its rotating effect, created a distinctive aesthetic impression on the viewers.

The guests also listened to melodies performed on traditional national musical instruments and shared their positive impressions.

The members of the delegation also closely examined the exhibition depicting mahalla life in the section titled ‘New Uzbekistan — the Foundation of a New Renaissance’, as well as the model of the Tashkent City complex, which showcases the modern image of Tashkent.

The model sparked lively discussions among the guests and prompted numerous questions.

Irakli Kvergelidze, Head of the Orbi Group (Georgia):

“The work carried out at the Center is astonishing. An enormous amount of effort has been invested. The rich historical heritage, covering nearly all periods of Islamic history, is on full display. I was especially impressed by the harmonious blend of historical spirit and modern technologies.

I am confident that once the Center opens, it will become a major scientific and cultural hub attracting hundreds of thousands, even millions, of visitors from around the world. Guests coming here will have the opportunity to witness a priceless heritage created not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire world.

Honestly, it is difficult to fully evaluate everything I saw here, as it is all exceptionally beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The architecture clearly expresses the Center’s purpose, spirit, and concept.

Firstly, the architectural solutions are extremely interesting and beautiful.

Secondly, it is evident that highly skilled specialists worked on this project. The quality of the work is very high. If I were to rate the Center on a ten-point scale, I would give it 12 points.

I would especially like to highlight the dedication of the team that worked on this project. I extend my gratitude to all staff — both visible and behind the scenes — whose hard work is evident. Their commitment to making this project even more perfect is truly remarkable.”

Tornike Janashvili, Head of the Block Group construction company (Georgia):

“I believe this is a very large and majestic place. I think the existence of such a center is extremely important.

The extensive use of modern technologies in the Center deserves special attention. I have visited many museums, but I can say that modern technologies significantly enhance visitors’ experiences. This is very important because this approach allows people to absorb more information more easily.”
