German, Finnish and Korean technologies: A new information environment ready for service at the center library
It is impossible to imagine today’s advanced era without technology. In particular, the expansion of digital platforms in scientific and educational institutions is helping to organize the learning process more effectively. Innovative opportunities have also been created in the modern library of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
Modern technological devices produced in leading countries of the world have been installed in the Center’s library, bringing information services to a new level.
According to specialists, nearly 20 different technical devices manufactured using technologies from Germany, Finland, Italy, and South Korea have been delivered to the library. These devices help organize library services in a modern format and expand opportunities for users to access information quickly.
Among these technical solutions, the tablet stations developed by the Finnish company Hublet are particularly noteworthy. Through these devices, users can temporarily take tablets and access a number of electronic resources, as well as obtain information about the Center and its library.
Currently, four such stations have been installed in the library of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, each equipped with up to six tablets. The devices operate on the Android operating system, and because their platform is simple and convenient, library staff can independently upload or update the necessary content.
Applications and internet pages available on the tablets are also controlled by the library administration, ensuring purposeful and secure use of the devices.
The devices have been developed with hygiene and cybersecurity requirements in mind. The tablets are equipped with a special antibacterial coating that protects against 99.9 percent of bacteria. In addition, once the tablet is returned to the station, all user data is automatically deleted, ensuring that personal information is not stored.
Sarvar Mamatqulov, Project Manager at Smart Library company:
“A reader approaches the device, presses the button to take a tablet, and the station automatically provides it. Currently, the device can be used for two hours. After the set time expires, the tablet is locked and must be returned to the station.”
According to specialists, the introduction of such technologies plays an important role in developing modern information services in libraries and creating a comfortable environment for users. In this way, the library of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan serves not only as a place for traditional reading but also as a modern knowledge space offering advanced information opportunities.
