“Here, the entire history of Central Asia is embodied” — impression of the international delegation
The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan was established on the initiative and by the decision of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and in a short period of time it has gained international recognition, attracting global attention with its grandeur and rich content.
A delegation led by the Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Ruslan Mukambetov, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
Members of the delegation carefully toured each hall of the Center. During the visit, the guests became acquainted with the works displayed in the 14 arches of the Great Figures Gallery and received detailed information about the lives and scientific heritage of prominent scholars.
They also closely explored the Qur’an Hall of the museum, the civilizations of the pre-Islamic period, the First and Second Renaissance periods, the era of Uzbek khanates, and the “New Uzbekistan – Foundation of the New Renaissance” exposition.
The Qur’an Hall made a particularly strong impression on the delegation members. They watched the modern mapping show presented there and became acquainted with the famous Uthman Mushaf. They also viewed rare sources within the framework of a project that includes 114 Qur’an manuscripts related to Uzbekistan. Among them, the Katta Langar Qur’an, Qur’ans from the Samanid and Karakhanid periods, as well as the Uzbekkhan Qur’an left a deep impression on the guests.
Another section that attracted the delegation’s attention was the Second Renaissance exposition. Here, the political, cultural, and scientific life during the reign of Amir Temur is widely presented. The great ruler is vividly portrayed in this hall as a statesman, builder, and patron of science.
Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Ruslan Mukambetov:
“We had been hearing for a long time about the construction of such a center. Fortunately, we had the opportunity to visit it right after its opening. Of course, it leaves a very strong impression. It would not be an exaggeration to say that not only the history of Uzbekistan, but the entire history of Central Asia is reflected here. And because all of this is combined with modern technologies, everything looks different and is perceived differently.
It is well known that a nation that does not know its history has no future. Therefore, it is especially important for the younger generation to know their history. In my opinion, this is of great significance. The fact that so many people are visiting this place also proves it. This is very good, and it should be so.”
