TURKSOY and the Islamic Civilization Center have identified new directions for cooperation

Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, held a meeting with the leadership of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).

During the discussions, the parties thoroughly addressed issues related to elevating cultural and humanitarian cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries to a new level, promoting joint initiatives in science and education, and strengthening practical collaboration. Both sides emphasized that the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage serve as a vital foundation for enhancing solidarity and mutual trust among the countries of the Turkic world.

During the meeting, high appreciation was expressed for the reforms and international initiatives being implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which are giving new momentum to integration processes within the Turkic world. In this context, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, established in Tashkent, was recognized as a major scientific and educational hub serving not only national but also pan-Turkic and universal heritage, contributing to its study and dissemination to a wide audience.

The parties also discussed a number of joint events planned for implementation this year. In particular, special attention was given to the agreement to hold, for the first time, the Forum of Youth from Turkic-speaking Countries in Uzbekistan in 2026. Traditionally organized annually in one of the TURKSOY member states, this prestigious event has previously been successfully held in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The forum, which Uzbekistan will host in October this year, is expected to bring together around 300 talented young participants who have achieved high results in the fields of economy, culture, education, and sports.

Said Yusuf, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY:

The strengthening of relations between Uzbekistan and other Turkic countries on a daily basis is, above all, the result of the wise and forward-looking policy of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The establishment of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan serves as a true source of pride for all Turkic peoples. We are particularly pleased with the expansion of joint projects between TURKSOY and the Center.

At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties highly assessed the prospects for future cooperation and expressed their readiness to further expand scientific and cultural ties. This cooperation will play an important role in strengthening friendship and solidarity among Turkic states, preserving their shared historical heritage, and passing it on intact to future generations.
