Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine: “Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiative is very important”

Although it has not been long since its opening, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, which has already captured the attention of the global community, left a profound impression this time on representatives of Ukraine’s foreign policy circles. Members of the delegation emphasized that here they not only saw history, but truly felt it.
A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko toured the exhibition halls of the Center’s museum step by step, highly appreciating how the historical heritage presented in each section is harmoniously integrated with modern technologies.
The Qur’an Hall, in particular, left a deep impression on the delegation members.
Olexandr Mischenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine:
I am truly amazed by this place. Here, history is brought to life through modern technologies and has a powerful impact on the human mind.
The attention being paid to history by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and this initiative aimed at revealing the true essence of Islam are extremely important.
At a time when various misconceptions exist, it is especially necessary to convey the truth through such centers.
For me, knowledge is the strongest tool that protects a person from aggression. This Center is creating a solid foundation for that very knowledge. This visit will remain in my heart forever.
Viktor Maiko, Special Representative of the President of Ukraine for Central Asia:
It is very difficult to express my impressions of the Center in simple words. This is an unparalleled and astonishing place.
Here, artifacts, culture, history, religion, and human emotions are harmoniously combined. The exhibitions present Uzbekistan’s path of development from ancient times to the present day in a deep and impactful way.
Uzbekistan has long been a crossroads of civilizations, and today it is entering a new stage of development — the Third Renaissance.
This Center is important not only for Uzbekistan but for all humanity. The way this rich heritage is preserved and presented is truly of a high standard.
This visit by the Ukrainian delegation once again confirmed an important point: today, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is not only a place for preserving national heritage, but is also becoming a major center that promotes science, culture, and spirituality on a global scale.
International recognition further strengthens its prestige and lays the foundation for it to become one of the world’s leading scientific and educational institutions in the future.
