The conference participants paid tribute to the memory of Amir Temur
As part of the international conference titled “The Role and Significance of Amir Temur and the Timurid Civilization in World History and Culture” being held in Tashkent, participants took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the foot of the Amir Temur monument, paying deep respect to the memory of the great Sahibqiran.
Following the ceremony, the guests visited the State Museum of the History of the Timurids, which has been renovated and enriched with updated exhibitions. During their tour of the museum, they closely familiarized with unique historical sources, manuscripts, military equipment, miniatures, and various archaeological findings related to the Timurid period.
According to the participants, each exhibit in the museum clearly reflects not only the political and military power of that era but also its scientific and cultural advancement. In particular, the examples related to state governance, urban planning traditions, and cultural heritage sparked great interest.
The guests also emphasized that through the museum’s interactive and visual displays, they gained a broader understanding of Amir Temur’s personality and his place in history.
It is not correct to view Temur solely as a military commander. His greatness lies in the fact that he governed the state by harmonizing intellect and strength. In many cases, cities did not resist but admired his political authority and wise strategy. In this sense, the idea “Strength is in justice” served as the main principle of his entire activity, — said Azizullo Arol, a member of the Academy of Sciences of Afghanistan.
Turkish historian and writer Abdurrahman Kaplan expressed his impressions of the museum as follows:
“Today’s visit left a very deep and lasting impression on me. The exhibitions of the State Museum of the History of the Timurids are rich in content, scientifically well-developed, and very well preserved. In particular, the miniatures, manuscripts, and chess-related exhibits clearly demonstrate Temur’s statecraft and strategic thinking. This museum is a great spiritual treasure not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire Turkic world.”
