The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan has achieved a Guinness World Record, becoming the largest museum in Islamic civilization

On April 13, 2026, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan was officially recognized as the “The Largest Museum of Islamic Civilization” and was awarded the prestigious title of Guinness World Records.

The award ceremony was attended by an official representative and adjudicator of Guinness World Records, Seyda Subaşı, who confirmed that the Center fully meets all international standards.

The event was also attended by architects, scholars, designers, and builders who made significant contributions to the project. The award was presented to the members of the Center’s Scientific Council.

During the ceremony, Guinness World Records official representative Seyda Subaşı stated:

“As an official representative of Guinness World Records, I can say that every corner of this museum and every exhibited artifact possesses unique distinctiveness and cultural value. It is clearly evident that years of extensive and dedicated effort lie behind the creation of this complex.

Visiting the museum left me truly impressed — it was a deeply meaningful and enriching experience. Although it was not possible to cover everything during the visit, the evaluation process was conducted in strict accordance with established procedures. I used an official logbook, in which each exhibit was recorded and verified by specialists in Islamic archaeology, art, and science.

I am sincerely amazed by the level of work accomplished and would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved in bringing this project to life. This is a remarkable achievement resulting from great effort and high professionalism. Each participant’s contribution deserves special recognition. In the language of Guinness World Records, this is truly extraordinary.”

The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is a large-scale scientific, educational, and museum complex implemented as an authorial mega-project of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The project began in 2017 and was completed on March 17, 2026. It has emerged as a unique cultural and educational platform of the “New Uzbekistan,” integrating scientific potential, cultural heritage, and modern technologies within a single space. The project reflects the strategic vision of the Head of State aimed at strengthening national identity and promoting Uzbekistan globally as one of the key centers of Islamic civilization.

The chief architect of the project, Abduqahhor Turdiyev, noted:

“The uniqueness of the Center lies in the fact that its architecture reflects the rich culture and heritage of Uzbekistan. Thanks to the ongoing reforms, our country is presenting itself not only as a center of science and culture, but also as an active participant in global intercivilizational dialogue, confidently opening itself to the world.”

Today, the Center has become one of the most visited cultural and scientific sites in the region, welcoming up to 5,000 visitors daily, which indicates strong interest from both citizens of Uzbekistan and international guests.

The awarding of the Guinness World Records title is not only recognition of the project’s scale, but also a high acknowledgment of the efforts of hundreds of specialists, scholars, and experts involved in its realization.

In his speech, the Director of the Islamic Civilization Center, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, emphasized:

“Undoubtedly, this award is a well-deserved recognition of the authorial project of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. All necessary conditions for our activities have been created by our respected President, and today our main goal is to effectively utilize this potential in implementing large-scale scientific and educational projects aimed at preserving and promoting Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage, as well as disseminating the humanistic ideas of our sacred religion of Islam as a religion of goodness, peace, enlightenment, and tolerance.”

The attainment of the Guinness World Records status strengthens Uzbekistan’s role as one of the important tourist and historical centers of Islamic science, culture, and enlightenment. It also confirms the significance of the Center as a modern platform for intercivilizational dialogue based on the principles of mutual respect, tolerance, and cultural diversity.
