“You will want to come here again”: A delegation led by Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan

The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, officially recognized as “the largest museum of Islamic civilization” and awarded the prestigious Guinness World Records title, welcomed another major international delegation today. The delegation, led by Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation, closely familiarized with the Center’s activities and exhibitions.

It was particularly noted that in recent times the Center has been attracting an increasing number of both local and international visitors, becoming an even more vibrant and appealing destination. For Radiy Khabirov, this was not his first visit. He emphasized that he had visited the Center even before its official opening and returned once again afterward. According to him, each visit leaves a strong and vivid impression, just like the very first time.

He also noted that together with his wife, Karine Khabirova, he has observed how the atmosphere, content, and level of presentation at the Center continue to reveal new dimensions with each visit.

During the visit, the Center’s leadership expressed their satisfaction with the delegation’s return. Radiy Khabirov, in turn, congratulated the leadership on the Center’s inclusion in the Guinness World Records and noted that the project, implemented at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is truly worthy of international recognition.

The delegation began their familiarization with the Center’s exhibitions from the Pre-Islamic period section. Here, the model of the Koykirilgan Kala attracted particular interest. It was emphasized that this monument, dating back to the 2nd–6th centuries CE, served not only as a settlement but also as an observatory in its time.

In the section dedicated to the First Renaissance period, the Samarkand paper, the Kaaba covering dated 1988, and the Kaaba keys created during the Mamluk period in Egypt (12th–14th centuries) left a strong impression on the guests. These rare exhibits were recognized as vivid examples reflecting the high cultural and spiritual level of Islamic civilization.

Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation:

“This is an incredibly impressive complex, truly unique. However, its most important aspect is not only its external appearance. When I became acquainted with the thoughts of the esteemed President Shavkat Miromonovich about this Center, they deeply moved me. The main goal of this complex is to present to the wider public the true, enlightened, and humanistic essence of Islam. Indeed, Islam is a great religion that calls for humanity, goodness, knowledge, and progress. I emphasized this point during my meeting with the President of Uzbekistan. It is especially important that all work here is carried out based on this idea.

I have never seen such a beautiful and perfect structure before. It is no coincidence that I am visiting this place for the third time. Even during the construction process, I came here twice to closely observe the progress. This place has become close to my heart and inspires a desire to return again.

It is particularly significant that one of the most sacred relics of the Islamic world — the Uthman Qur’an — is preserved here. This is a great spiritual and scholarly treasure not only for Muslims but for all intellectuals. We have also prepared a modern copy of the Qur’an, which we carefully preserve in our museum in the city of Ufa. Therefore, it is natural that not only Muslims but also representatives of various fields would wish to visit this place repeatedly.

The museum exhibition is organized very thoughtfully and in accordance with modern standards. Here, traditional art forms such as mosaics and wood carving are presented in harmony with modern technologies. Such an approach plays an important role in conveying history and civilization to the younger generation in a modern and impactful way.

In addition, the architectural design of the Center, the careful planning of every detail, and its rich content deserve special recognition. As is known, the Center began its activities relatively recently, in March. Naturally, over time it will continue to be enriched with new exhibits and artifacts. This means the Center will remain in a constant process of development. For example, the mapping show I witnessed today did not exist before. Therefore, I believe that each visit offers the opportunity to discover something new.”

The “New Uzbekistan — the Foundation of a New Renaissance” section, presenting the development strategy up to 2050, was highly appreciated by the members of the delegation. They noted that they clearly felt the connection between history and the future here.

During the visit, the delegation emphasized that every aspect of the Center reflects the initiative and direct attention of the Head of State. Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, left his remarks in the Book of Honored Guests, highly evaluating the Center’s scientific, spiritual, and cultural significance.
