A visit to the Islamic Civilization Center: A harmony of knowledge, history, and new perspectives

This time, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan became not only a place of introduction for professors, graduate students, and students of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, but also a space where ideas and perspectives were renewed. As participants moved through the exhibitions, they did not merely observe history — they felt it, sought to understand it, and reconsidered their academic and personal views from a new perspective. One thought voiced during the visit clearly reflected the essence of this experience: today’s youth are not simply observers, but the generation shaping a new era.

Husniyabonu Jonibekova — master’s student at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and recipient of the Zulfiya State Prize:

“The contribution of great scholars from Central Asia — Imam Bukhari, Ibn Sina, and Al-Khwarizmi — to the development of science deeply impressed me. The hall that left the greatest impression was ‘The New Renaissance – Foundation of a New Renaissance.’ There I realized one important truth: today’s youth are not merely spectators, but the creators of a new era of awakening. This understanding awakened in me a deep sense of responsibility.”

Hamidullo Lutfullayev — Head of the Department of Historical Source Studies at the Abu Rayhon Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Associate Professor at the IRCICA Department of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan:

“Every time I visit this place, new ideas emerge. Here, history, enlightenment, and intellectual thought are harmoniously combined. While the Quran Hall enriches a person spiritually, the library creates broad opportunities for academic research. The conditions created in the library deserve special recognition. Previously, we saw such opportunities only abroad, but today it is gratifying that a scientific environment of the same level has been established in our own country. This place is an open space of knowledge for people of all ages and professions. Most importantly, this Center awakens a sense of self-awareness in a person. Anyone who sees the path of development from the past to the present begins to understand their own potential more deeply. For young people, this is an important source that inspires intellectual and personal growth.”

Abdulla Okhunov — master’s student at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan:

“During our tour of the Center, we gained a much broader understanding of the Renaissance periods. The Quran Hall especially attracted our attention, but the library left the strongest impression. The academic environment created here, the wealth of books, and the modern technologies provide tremendous opportunities for young people engaged in research. In particular, the ‘Sonic Chair’ devices, which allow visitors to listen to audiobooks without disturbing others, are extremely convenient. I realized that the resources available here make it possible to effectively conduct master’s and doctoral-level research.”

Muhammadyoqub Ahmadjonov — master’s student at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan:

“Together with our teachers and fellow students, we thoroughly explored the Center’s exhibitions. The sections dedicated to the First and Second Renaissance periods helped us understand historical processes in a comprehensive way. At the end of the visit, we went to the library, and it was this place that interested me the most. Equipped with modern technologies and enriched with scientific literature brought from abroad, it creates great opportunities for young researchers like us. Here, one can easily find and use the necessary sources. Therefore, this place serves as an important source of knowledge for young scholars.”

This visit became an important academic and spiritual experience for the participants. Here, they not only became acquainted with history, but also enriched their perspectives and gave new meaning to their future activities. Once again, the Islamic Civilization Center demonstrated its significance as an important institution formed at the intersection of science and spirituality, harmoniously connecting the heritage of the past with contemporary intellectual thought.
