The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, established at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is today at the center of global attention
The unique exhibits displayed in the Center’s museum, including historical artifacts and valuable items repatriated to our country from abroad, hold a worthy place within the exhibitions. Every visitor to this complex leaves with deep impressions and high praise.
A delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Samara Region of the Russian Federation visited the Center. The members of the delegation thoroughly explored all exhibition halls of the Center and received detailed answers to their questions.
The guests were particularly impressed by the kiswah of Maqom Ibrahim and the mahmal. These rare exhibits were created during the Ottoman period in the 19th century, and according to sources, the kiswah was sewn in 1859 by the order of the Turkish Sultan Abdulmejid. These original artifacts made a strong impression on the delegation.
In addition, the architectural models displayed in the Second Renaissance exhibition also attracted great interest from the guests. In particular, the Mausoleum of Ahmad Yassawi in Turkistan, the Taj Mahal in India, the Gawharshad Begum Mosque in Iran, the Blue Mosque in Afghanistan, and the Oqsaroy and Dorussaodat complexes in Shahrisabz were recognized as outstanding examples of Timurid architecture. It should be noted that monuments related to Amir Temur and the Timurid period have been identified in the territories of 16 countries to date.
Furthermore, the guests visited the Qur’an Hall and watched a modern 3D mapping show. This immersive presentation left a deep impression on the delegation members, who especially expressed their admiration.
Galiullin Damir Fayazovich, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Samara Region of the Russian Federation:
“We are extremely impressed by this approach. Through the use of creativity and modern museum technologies, you have been able to convey history, the development of civilizations, and the interconnectedness between key historical stages in a very clear and impactful way. We are united by common Turkic roots. Therefore, by exchanging experience in presentation methods, it is possible to implement similar projects in other regions of the Russian Federation and demonstrate the unity of Turkic peoples and the intersection of civilizations. After all, historically we have been one whole.
Such museums and complexes created on the basis of modern approaches are of immense importance for the younger generation. They come to understand their roots and rich history. Most importantly, young people will continue the tradition of preserving and further developing these values. Such museum complexes attract not only youth but also tourists from various countries. The multilingual and multicultural presentation format is clearly reflected in the work of guides and in the exhibitions translated into different languages. The main task is to preserve these values and continue the traditions established by our ancestors.”
