Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš: “I have never seen such museums. It leaves a very strong impression”
Recognized internationally as “The largest museum of Islamic civilization,” and also rated by TURKSOY as the best museum in the Turkic world, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan once again hosted a high-level visit. A delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, became closely acquainted with the Center’s activities and its unique exhibitions.
During the visit, the guests highly appreciated the Center’s grand architecture, its majestic 65-meter dome, and the complex compositional solutions implemented across its vast territory. From the very entrance, the delegation noted that the Center is not only a museum but also a fully developed scientific and educational space.
The tour began in the “Gallery of Great Figures.” Here, portraits of prominent scholars and historical personalities, created using 110 shades of micro-mosaic stones, left a strong impression on the visitors.
The delegation members also experienced the opportunity to engage in “live dialogue” with these scholars through interactive technologies. This allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the lives and scientific heritage of historical figures, sparking both admiration and curiosity. The guests particularly emphasized how history and art are harmoniously presented through modern technologies in a unique artistic language.
The Czech Prime Minister highly praised President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s attention to preserving cultural heritage. He described this initiative not only as an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation but also as a significant political effort contributing to the development of mutual trust and partnership at both regional and international levels.
In the pre-Islamic civilization exhibition, the delegation was impressed by the interactive and visual presentation of ancient civilizations, early human lifestyles, and cultural formation processes. Scenes of ancient hunting, wall depictions, coins related to early monetary systems, and information about the Great Silk Road enabled the visitors to vividly experience the atmosphere of that era.
The Second Renaissance section was of particular interest to the delegation. The traditions of statehood, court culture, and the scientific environment of the Amir Temur era, presented through interactive methods, were highly appreciated. In particular, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš experienced a “live dialogue” with the figure of Amir Temur using interactive technologies. This left a strong impression on him, highlighting how modern approaches can deepen the perception of history.
In the “New Uzbekistan — New Renaissance” section, the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country, strategic development directions, and issues of international cooperation attracted significant interest from the delegation. It was especially noted that clear future-oriented goals and a strong focus on human capital occupy a central place here.
The delegation also visited the heart of the Center — the Qur’an Hall. The 7th-century Uthman Mushaf, rare manuscripts displayed around it, and the modern mapping hologram show created a powerful emotional impact on the guests.
At the end of the visit, Andrej Babiš left his impressions in the Center’s honorary guestbook.
Andrej Babiš, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic:
“It is difficult to find words to describe this museum — it is truly astonishing. Unfortunately, our time is very limited, and I will certainly need to return one day. We have only spent a few hours in Uzbekistan, but your country has left a very strong impression on me.
It is a great country with a rich history, wonderful people, and especially a talented young generation. Today, we met with your Prime Minister, and tomorrow I am looking forward to meeting your President. This is a unique opportunity for me.
Unfortunately, we came only for a one-day visit, but I have seen great opportunities to expand cooperation with Czech companies. There are around 50 Czech companies operating here, and the business forum was held at a very high level. I am extremely pleased with this.
Your country holds a very important place in Central Asia. We certainly see many opportunities. Your Prime Minister’s speech was very clear and meaningful, and we will definitely take these recommendations into account. It is also encouraging that some companies from your country are operating in our country as well.
Everything is excellent. I have never seen such a museum in my life. It is truly very impressive. Congratulations.”
The delegation members highly appreciated the conditions created at the Center, the scientific foundation of the exhibitions, and their enrichment with modern technologies, emphasizing that this institution has become an important cultural and educational center not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire world.
