Editor-in-chief of The Independent: “A completely new experience for representatives of the West”

Editor-in-Chief of The Independent, Geordie Greig, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and emphasized that the modern and vivid presentation of three thousand years of history, along with the vast scale of the museum, represents a completely new experience for Western audiences.

During the visit, Geordie Greig once again noted that the museum’s immense scale and its dynamic, contemporary presentation of three millennia of history offer an entirely new experience for representatives of the West.

To be honest, the exhibitions here are extremely vivid and engaging. The way scholars, artists, philosophers, and the history of religion are presented in an interconnected manner truly makes this place unique. In particular, the use of interactive technologies, screens, and moving exhibits makes it possible not only to see history but to actually feel it, which is fascinating. This approach makes the museum more accessible and impactful. It is also very gratifying to see that rare artifacts and textiles preserved in London, but originally created here, have been returned to their homeland. Such an approach further strengthens attention to cultural heritage, — said Geordie Greig.

The guest described the Center as a major cultural and scientific project capable of achieving significant international success and attracting global attention. He recognized it as a unique institution that presents the country’s past, present, and future within a unified system and invited everyone to visit it in person and experience it firsthand.
