An international conference will be held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan with the participation of the Queen of Malaysia
On May 5 of this year, an international conference titled “Scientific Tradition in Islamic Civilization: Resources, Potential and Challenges” will be held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. The event is organized by the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
The conference is expected to become one of the most significant international events of the year in the fields of science, education, culture, and intercivilizational dialogue. It aligns with the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at strengthening dialogue between civilizations, promoting peace and a culture of mutual understanding, as well as advancing science and enlightenment as the foundation of sustainable development. At the same time, the event reflects Malaysia’s consistent policy in the field of scientific diplomacy and international humanitarian cooperation.
The conference will bring together representatives of government institutions, leaders of higher education institutions, research centers, leading scholars, researchers, experts, representatives of spiritual and educational circles, as well as young professionals and students from various countries. More than 300 participants are expected to attend.
As a special part of the program, the participation and official address of Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, is planned.
The program includes plenary sessions, thematic scientific presentations, three panel sessions, an expert meeting, and bilateral negotiations.
Within the framework of the conference, it is planned to sign memoranda of cooperation between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, as well as with a number of leading scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan — International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Imam Maturidi International Scientific Research Center, the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, and Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
In addition, the Malaysian side has put forward an initiative to donate 20,000 copies of the Holy Qur’an, published at the Nasyrul Qur’an Center, to the “Waqf” Public Charity Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Holding the conference at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan carries special symbolic significance. This unique scientific and educational complex serves to present to the world the rich intellectual heritage formed over centuries. It is a land where great thinkers who made immense contributions to the development of mathematics, medicine, astronomy, philosophy, and other sciences emerged.
As part of the event, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan will present to Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah a book-album titled “The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections: The Collection of the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia,” prepared in cooperation with the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan.
During the conference, modern approaches to the study of Islamic scholarly heritage, as well as issues related to the objective assessment of the contribution of Muslim scholars to world civilization, will be discussed.
The conference is expected to attract the attention of leading local and international media outlets. The event will be covered by the “Dunyo” News Agency, Bernama TV, Radio Televisyen Malaysia, and other media organizations.
For foreign guests and participants, guided tours of the exhibitions of the Islamic Civilization Center will be organized. In addition, cultural and scientific visits to the historic cities of Samarkand and Bukhara — pearls of world civilization — are planned.
The event is expected to become a symbol of unity in science, spirituality, and mutual respect among nations, as well as an important step toward strengthening international humanitarian cooperation based on universal values such as knowledge, peace, and constructive development.
