The Swedish delegation highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s experience in promoting cultural heritage

The delegation led by Sweden’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Thomas Danestad, was deeply impressed by the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, describing it as a unique institution where historical heritage, modern technologies, and an educational approach are harmoniously combined.

The guests particularly noted that the Center’s exhibitions present the three-thousand-year history of the territory of Uzbekistan, as well as the interaction of diverse cultural influences and civilizations, in a coherent and compelling manner. They emphasized that this large-scale scientific and educational project, initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, plays an important role in preserving the country’s rich historical heritage, promoting it through modern methods, and introducing it to the international community. The delegation also showed great interest in the authentic artifacts, multimedia solutions, interactive opportunities created for young people, and the innovative approaches used to present cultural heritage in a contemporary format.

It is noteworthy that representatives of Sweden’s trade and economic sectors also took part in the visit. The guests observed that the Center’s exhibitions not only showcase Uzbekistan’s rich historical heritage but also clearly reflect the country’s commitment to international cooperation, openness, and intercultural dialogue.

Sharing his impressions of the Center, Christopher Berry, a representative of the National Board of Trade Sweden, stated:

“Our visit to the Center was both highly engaging and meaningful. It presents Uzbekistan’s long history, diverse cultural influences, and openness to the world in a very impressive way. I was particularly impressed by the interactive opportunities created for young people, the effective use of technology, and the innovative approach to presenting cultural heritage through modern methods”.

Members of the delegation emphasized that such scientific and educational centers contribute to strengthening mutual understanding among nations, expanding cultural dialogue, and enriching international cooperation with new meaning and substance.
