Egypt and Uzbekistan are the heirs to two great civilizations that have made immense contributions to the progress of humanity

Leading Egyptian media outlets, Al Shorouk and Youm7, extensively covered the speech delivered by Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, during an international presentation held at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. According to the publications, Egypt and Uzbekistan are heirs to two great civilizations that have made immense contributions to the progress of humanity, and today cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries is reaching a new level. The articles described the meeting at the Grand Egyptian Museum as an important platform for strengthening the shared historical and cultural heritage of the two peoples and fostering dialogue between civilizations.

Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, emphasized that Egypt and Uzbekistan are the successors of two great civilizations that have made unparalleled contributions to human development. According to him, the two countries are united by a rich civilizational, cultural, and scientific heritage that has enriched the common treasury of world culture.

He made these remarks during his speech at the event entitled “Uzbekistan and Egypt: Dialogue of Civilizations and Heritage. Presentation of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan”, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo at the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Firdavs Abdukhalikov expressed his pleasure at participating in the meeting and conveyed his sincere greetings and best wishes to all attendees. He also stressed the symbolic significance of holding the event in Egypt, noting the country’s distinguished place in the history of human civilization and its centuries-old traditions in science, statehood, and culture.

According to him, the gathering at the Grand Egyptian Museum — one of the world’s largest and most prestigious cultural institutions — is not merely an introduction or presentation, but a platform for dialogue and cooperation between two peoples who have left an indelible mark on human history.

Abdukhalikov noted that the Nile Valley was one of the earliest centers in human history where statehood and architectural arts flourished, while Transoxiana had long been recognized as a major center of science, education, and intellectual thought.

He stated:

“While Egypt is the great book of humanity’s memory, Uzbekistan is a country that has written some of the brightest pages in human history”.

He further emphasized that the participants of the meeting were united not only as representatives of two nations, but also as descendants of two great civilizations that helped shape humanity’s shared spiritual and cultural heritage.

The Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan also highlighted the significant progress achieved in bilateral relations in recent years. In his view, under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Uzbekistan – Egypt relations have entered a new stage of development. This demonstrates the strength of the historical and cultural ties between the two countries and creates broader opportunities for cooperation across various fields.
