Beijing professor: “Here, we witnessed not only history, but also the renaissance of New Uzbekistan”
In today’s era of globalization, dialogue and mutual understanding among civilizations are becoming more important than ever. As a practical manifestation of these processes, Chinese scholars and experts who visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan described the complex as an important international platform serving the preservation of historical heritage, the promotion of science, and the strengthening of cultural ties among nations. During their visit, the guests not only became acquainted with rare exhibits and advanced museum technologies but also rediscovered the significant role of Central Asia in the development of world science and culture through the Center.
Professor Dong Xiang of Peking University, a member of the delegation, emphasized that the Center’s magnificent architectural design and rich exhibitions provided a deeper understanding of the invaluable contribution of Islamic culture to the progress of humanity.
Particular interest was generated by the “Gallery of Great Figures,” which showcases the lives and scholarly legacies of distinguished thinkers who made outstanding contributions to the development of world science, culture, and civilization. Members of the delegation noted that the Center’s concept of “Civilizations – Personalities – Discoveries” is effectively embodied in this gallery.
During the visit, the guests also familiarized themselves with the Center’s efforts to present the history of Islamic civilization, as well as achievements in science, culture, and enlightenment, through modern digital and multimedia technologies. They emphasized that this approach is important not only for preserving historical heritage but also for presenting it to the international academic community and the wider public in a contemporary format.
Professor Dong Xiang of Peking University shared his impressions:
“We were deeply impressed by the Islamic Civilization Center. Its magnificent architecture and rich exhibitions once again allowed us to appreciate the greatness of Islamic culture and its tremendous contribution to the development of world civilization.
At the same time, we clearly witnessed that Uzbekistan is undergoing a new stage of development and renaissance. The efforts being made in the country to preserve historical heritage and present it through modern approaches are truly commendable.
We are confident that the friendship and cooperation between China and Uzbekistan will continue to grow stronger, and that the peoples of both countries will make a worthy contribution together to shared progress and the common future of humanity”.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation representatives particularly emphasized that the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is one of the important international humanitarian platforms dedicated to the study and promotion of national and universal heritage, as well as to strengthening dialogue among different cultures and peoples.
