From investments to the dialogue of civilizations: Omani delegation visits the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan

The history of Islamic civilization is not merely a memory of the past; it is a strong foundation for intellectual dialogue, mutual understanding, and contemporary cooperation among nations. In today’s world, sustainable economic cooperation requires not only financial partnerships but also strong cultural and spiritual ties between peoples. During their visit to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman described the complex not only as a repository of rich historical heritage but also as an international platform that promotes mutual understanding and humanitarian cooperation among civilizations.

As part of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum being held in Tashkent, a delegation led by Almuatasim Mutairi, Executive Vice President of Sohar International Bank SAOG of the Sultanate of Oman, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, an initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

While exploring the Center’s exhibitions, the guests showed particular interest in the legacy of the First Renaissance, the spread of Islam across vast regions, and the impact of this process on the development of science and enlightenment.

During the visit, the delegation received detailed information about the contribution of Central Asia to the development of Islamic civilization through the Center’s unique manuscripts, historical artifacts, and examples of scholarly heritage.

The guests were especially impressed by the achievements of the great scholars who emerged from this land and their role in harmonizing religious and secular sciences.

At the conclusion of the visit, Almuatasim Musabah AL Mutairi of the Sultanate of Oman shared his impressions of the Center and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality. According to him, the Center presents Islamic civilization, the ancient periods that preceded it, and the progress of New Uzbekistan as interconnected chapters of a single historical narrative.

“This is a truly remarkable center and one of the major Islamic museums. I would recommend that people from across the Arab world, as well as all visitors, come and see this museum, as its unique exhibits leave a profound impression on everyone”, he said.

This visit played an important role in promoting Uzbekistan’s rich spiritual and educational heritage to the international community, while also strengthening cultural and humanitarian dialogue and fostering greater mutual understanding among nations.
