President of the BRICS bank recognized Uzbekistan’s third renaissance vision

“Here, the past is not merely displayed; it has been transformed into a source of inspiration for shaping the future.” These words, spoken by Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank (NDB) of BRICS, during her visit to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, vividly capture the impressions the Center leaves on its visitors.

A tour of the Center introduced the guests not only to a rich historical and cultural heritage but also to a unique world of exhibitions harmoniously integrated with modern technologies. Members of the delegation first became acquainted with the Center’s magnificent architecture, national architectural traditions, and exhibitions created using the latest multimedia solutions. Particular interest was drawn to Timur’s Chess, displayed in the section dedicated to the Second Renaissance. This unique exhibit vividly reflects not only the strategic thinking of the great commander but also the scientific achievements and intellectual atmosphere of that era.

In the Hall of the Holy Qur’an, members of the delegation viewed 114 copies of the Qur’an from different historical periods, arranged around the Uthmanic Mushaf, one of the most revered relics in the Muslim world. This collection, reflecting the development of Islamic calligraphy and the preservation of sacred heritage through the centuries, left a profound impression on the visitors. The delegation was also captivated by the enormous chandelier located beneath the 65-meter dome and adorned with more than one million Swarovski crystals. Combining light, architecture, and engineering excellence, this remarkable composition amazed the guests and stands as one of the Center’s most iconic symbols.

At the conclusion of the visit, Dilma Rousseff shared her impressions of the Center, emphasizing that every aspect of it had been created with exceptional craftsmanship and refined cultural taste.

“I leave this Center with many warm and deeply positive impressions. First and foremost, I was amazed by the exceptional quality with which every aspect of this building has been realized. The elegant patterns on the walls, the delicate craftsmanship of the doors, and the artisanal traditions reflected in every corner of the museum are truly impressive.

At the same time, the influences of different historical periods and civilizations are harmoniously brought together here, immersing visitors in the rich spiritual environment of the Islamic world. This is a civilization that has bestowed invaluable knowledge upon humanity in the fields of mathematics, astronomy, literature, and poetry, while also promoting the ideals of solidarity and cooperation among peoples. Through the exhibitions, one can clearly see how cities emerged, developed, and flourished.

What impressed me most was the concept of the Renaissance. The historical and spiritual connection between the First Renaissance, the Second Renaissance, and the Third Renaissance is presented here in a highly compelling manner. The idea of the Third Renaissance today is an important process being advanced under the initiative and leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan. Most importantly, it is evident that this vision is built upon the strong scientific and cultural foundations established by the two great Renaissance periods that preceded it.

In today’s complex world, filled with numerous challenges and uncertainties, seeing initiatives like this gives people hope. In my view, the most important thing for all of us is to look toward the future with confidence and to be able to see a horizon that inspires us. This Center embodies precisely that idea: every country and every nation can fully realize its potential and build a new era of revival and development,” said Dilma Rousseff.

At the conclusion of the visit, the President of the BRICS New Development Bank recorded her impressions in the Center’s Book of Honored Guests. Members of the delegation were also presented with commemorative gifts on behalf of the Center by Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center. These symbolic gifts were received as a sincere gesture reflecting the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and cultural ties.

Today, the high praise expressed by the head of a major international institution that plays a significant role in global financial and economic development serves as yet another vivid testament to the growing international significance and prestige of the Center and its mission.
