A high-level delegation led by Matsuo Takehiko, Vice Minister for International Affairs at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to promote the rich historical and spiritual heritage of the country and the wider Islamic world.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Center’s museum exhibitions, where they were introduced to the rich scientific, cultural, and spiritual heritage that flourished on the territory of present-day Uzbekistan, as well as the lives and achievements of the great scholars whose contributions profoundly influenced the development of world civilization.

The guests were also briefed on the Center’s activities aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation, preserving cultural heritage, and making it accessible to a broad audience.

The delegation highly praised the Center’s large-scale initiatives and its innovative approach to presenting historical heritage through modern technologies and contemporary exhibition methods. In particular, the exhibitions integrating science, education, and culture left a deep impression on the visitors.

At the conclusion of the visit, the guests emphasized that the Islamic Civilization Center serves not only as an important academic and educational platform for Uzbekistan, but also for the entire region, making a meaningful contribution to strengthening cultural dialogue and mutual understanding among nations.
