Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Indonesia is entering a new stage, built not only on political and economic ties but also on the shared foundations of civilizational heritage and spiritual values. These common values were once again highlighted during the visit of a delegation led by Ahmad Muzani, Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the Center’s Gallery of Great Figures, where 14 monumental arches present the remarkable contributions of renowned hadith scholars, philosophers, eminent scholars, and statesmen to the advancement of global science and civilization.

The guests then toured the exhibitions dedicated to the First Renaissance, Second Renaissance, New Uzbekistan – The Foundation of the Third Renaissance, and the Holy Qur’an Hall. The exhibitions, showcasing the scientific schools that flourished in present-day Uzbekistan, its rich manuscript heritage, the achievements of great scholars, and cutting-edge museum technologies, left a profound impression on the delegation.

Particular attention was drawn to a rare fragment of the Holy Qur’an copied by the celebrated calligrapher Umar Aqta, displayed in the Second Renaissance exhibition. Carefully preserved for centuries, this manuscript was recognized not only as an outstanding masterpiece of Islamic calligraphy but also as an invaluable spiritual treasure of the Muslim world.

While touring the exhibitions, Ahmad Muzani emphasized that every artifact on display vividly demonstrates the remarkable achievements of Islamic civilization in science, culture, and the promotion of humanitarian values.

“Together with members of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, government and public officials, distinguished scholars, religious leaders, and representatives of the education sector, we had the honor of visiting the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. The rich heritage preserved here once again illustrates the extraordinary achievements of Islamic civilization.

These exhibitions reaffirm that this land was one of the world's greatest centers of science, culture, and enlightenment. For Indonesian Muslims, this heritage is not merely a part of history it is a living example that dedication, knowledge, and perseverance lead to progress.

Although Indonesia is located thousands of kilometers away from Uzbekistan, this Center serves as an invaluable source of inspiration for our nation. I firmly believe it will inspire future generations to uphold the values of kindness, tolerance, and mutual respect among people of different religions and beliefs,” the distinguished guest stated.

During the visit, Ahmad Muzani also recorded his sincere reflections and best wishes in the Center’s Book of Honored Guests.

Following the tour, Ahmad Muzani met with Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazarov, Chairman of the Muslim Board in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding religious and educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Indonesia, promoting pilgrimage tourism, and strengthening scholarly collaboration among Muslim countries.

The parties also explored the possibility of establishing cooperation between the fatwa centers of the two countries and discussed promoting the “Umrah + Uzbekistan” initiative in Indonesia. The project aims to provide international pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah with the opportunity to visit Uzbekistan’s sacred sites, explore the legacy of its great scholars, and experience its rich cultural heritage either before or after their pilgrimage.

This visit marks an important diplomatic milestone in Uzbekistan and Indonesia relations, opening a new chapter of cooperation and further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries based on the shared values of knowledge, enlightenment, and humanity.
