According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the participants of the First International Islamic Civilization Forum adopted an address to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, expressing strong support for the country’s efforts to preserve and promote the heritage of Islamic civilization and to advance international academic and humanitarian cooperation. The report noted that the participants recognized the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan as a global platform for dialogue and cooperation and expressed their readiness to support the implementation of the adopted Declaration and Roadmap, including the initiative to establish a World Alliance for Islamic Civilization.

The participants of the First International Islamic Civilization Forum adopted an address expressing their support for Uzbekistan’s efforts to preserve, safeguard, and widely promote the heritage of Islamic civilization. The document also highly commended President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiatives aimed at strengthening international academic and humanitarian cooperation.

The address was endorsed by delegations from more than forty countries, including heads of international organizations, ministers, muftis, distinguished scholars, and representatives of universities, research institutes, libraries, museums, and cultural institutions.

Participants described the forum not merely as an academic gathering, but as a historic event that marked the beginning of a new phase of international cooperation dedicated to studying, preserving, and promoting Islamic civilization as a shared cultural and intellectual heritage of humanity.

It was emphasized that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s opening address defined the forum’s central vision and direction. The four-day discussions focused on peace, tolerance, enlightenment, and international academic cooperation.

The address also gave special recognition to President Mirziyoyev’s initiative, announced during the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2017, to establish the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. Participants described the project as one of the most significant humanitarian initiatives of the past decade, emphasizing that its mission is to provide an objective study of the invaluable contributions of Islamic civilization to the development of global science, culture, and spirituality.

It was further noted that the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is steadily evolving into an important international platform for dialogue and cooperation among governments, academic institutions, museums, libraries, and research organizations engaged in the study and promotion of Islamic heritage.

The forum, held in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Termez, once again demonstrated that Central Asia has historically been one of the world's great centers of learning, where disciplines such as theology, philosophy, medicine, mathematics, and astronomy flourished.

The address also highly praised Uzbekistan’s large-scale efforts to preserve its cultural and religious heritage. In particular, it highlighted the work of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex, the Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Tirmidhi International Scientific Research Centers, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, and the Tashkent Islamic Institute.

The forum participants emphasized that these initiatives clearly demonstrate Uzbekistan’s firm commitment to preserving its historical heritage, advancing scholarly research, and further strengthening international humanitarian cooperation.

The address underscored that preserving and conducting in-depth research on the heritage of Islamic civilization is a shared responsibility not only of individual countries but also of governments, international organizations, and the global academic community. It further noted that this responsibility has become even more significant at a time when misinformation and extremist ideologies pose growing threats to intercultural understanding.

The delegates also expressed their full support for the Declaration and the Roadmap adopted at the conclusion of the forum, which are aimed at preserving, studying, and advancing Islamic civilization. They described these documents as a solid foundation for long-term international cooperation.

Furthermore, the participants announced their intention, in consultation with the President of Uzbekistan, to implement the initiative to establish a World Alliance for Islamic Civilization. The proposed alliance is expected to coordinate international research, expand academic exchanges, promote the training of highly qualified specialists, support scholarly publishing initiatives, and strengthen cooperation in the preservation of cultural heritage.

In the address, the participants reaffirmed their readiness to combine their intellectual, academic, and moral capacities to implement the forum’s resolutions and to ensure that the rich scholarly and spiritual heritage of Islamic civilization is preserved and passed on to future generations.

In conclusion, the delegates expressed their sincere appreciation to the people and leadership of Uzbekistan for organizing the forum to the highest international standards. They also expressed confidence that the initiatives and decisions adopted in Uzbekistan would contribute to strengthening peace, mutual understanding, justice, and dialogue among civilizations.

It should be noted that the First International Islamic Civilization Forum concluded its work on 9 July. The participants expressed confidence that the initiatives put forward by Uzbekistan would lay a strong foundation for a new era of international cooperation based on scholarship, the preservation of cultural heritage, and humanitarian partnership.
