Strategic cooperation between the Middle East and Central Asia is entering a new phase. The visit of Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is a practical continuation of the rapidly expanding political dialogue, cultural diplomacy, and economic cooperation between the two countries in recent years. During the visit, the delegation toured the Center’s exhibitions, which harmoniously combine historical heritage, the dialogue of civilizations, and concepts of modern development. The guests emphasized that Uzbekistan’s rich civilizational heritage is becoming an integral part of the country’s foreign policy and international cooperation strategy.

An official delegation led by Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.

The delegation was introduced to the Center’s museum exhibitions and received detailed information about its concept and mission.

One of the exhibitions that attracted the greatest interest was the section dedicated to the Great Silk Road. The delegation showed particular interest in the displays featuring ancient trade route maps, caravan routes linking East and West, and exhibitions illustrating the economic, scientific, and cultural exchanges between civilizations. They engaged with the Center’s specialists, asking numerous questions about the exhibits.

The section dedicated to Amir Temur and the Timurid era also left a lasting impression on the guests. Particular attention was drawn to the monumental handwritten Qur’an copied by the renowned calligrapher Umar Aqta, the history of Bibi-Khanym, and exhibits reflecting the remarkable cultural flourishing of the Timurid period.

The delegation also paid special attention to the interactive map in the New Uzbekistan – The Foundation of the Third Renaissance exhibition, which highlights Uzbekistan’s contemporary foreign policy and global partnerships. The digital displays showcasing the country’s strategic partnerships and diplomatic relations with various nations generated considerable interest among the visitors.

The sports section within the New Uzbekistan – The Foundation of the Third Renaissance exhibition became one of the most memorable and engaging parts of the visit. Information about the achievements of Uzbek athletes at the Olympic Games and World Championships attracted great interest from the delegation. During the discussion, both sides emphasized that sport serves as an important instrument for strengthening mutual trust, friendship, and cooperation among nations.

Today, Uzbekistan is undergoing a period of comprehensive reforms and dynamic development. The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is an important institution that strengthens the spiritual foundations of this progress by preserving the nation’s heritage on a scholarly basis and presenting it to the international community.

A place that successfully connects a rich historical legacy with future development is an invaluable asset for any nation. I am confident that this strong historical foundation will continue to serve Uzbekistan’s future progress.

We have clear objectives and a shared vision for further expanding cooperation between our countries. There remains tremendous untapped potential before us. We are looking forward with great pleasure to the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Amman later this year. At the conclusion of the visit, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, presented commemorative gifts from the Center to the members of the delegation.

Ayman Safadi also signed the Center’s Book of Honored Guests, leaving his impressions of the visit. His message became a symbolic expression of the shared commitment of Uzbekistan and Jordan to further strengthen their historic friendship, common spiritual values, and strategic partnership.
