Uzbekistan is referred to in ancient historical sources as Bilad Mawarannahr. This land is renowned not only throughout the Islamic world but also across the globe as one of the oldest centers of civilization. Its people are rightfully proud of this great heritage.

The construction of magnificent landmarks such as the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and the Imam Bukhari Complex, initiated by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is truly remarkable and inspiring.

The collection of hadiths compiled by Imam Bukhari from the sayings of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is recognized as one of the greatest books after the Holy Qur’an.

However, this is not merely about buildings. I myself studied here in the 1960s. Today, I take immense pride in seeing my former classmates, with whom I studied during those years, worthily carrying forward the legacy of the great enlightener Ziyovuddinkhon Bobokhon and making a meaningful contribution to the remarkable progress of New Uzbekistan.

Civilization is a great value created by nations, for humanity has been appointed by Almighty Allah as His vicegerent on earth.

This responsibility belongs to every individual and every nation alike. The First International Islamic Civilization Forum organized by the Islamic Civilization Center is therefore dedicated to some of the most significant and pressing issues of our time.

As President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has emphasized, we are living through a difficult and highly complex period. Today, through our civilization and our moral and spiritual values, we must make a meaningful contribution to strengthening mutual trust among the peoples of the world.

This is of profound importance not only within families and in our daily lives, but also in relations between nations and states.

We sincerely believe and hope that these noble initiatives put forward by the President will serve not only to promote tolerance, but also to strengthen mutual respect and solidarity among peoples.

To achieve this, enlightenment is essential. We must revive the rich spiritual heritage created by our ancestors over many centuries. They embodied these values in their daily lives. Today, in sunny Uzbekistan the most ancient and blessed land of the Islamic world we have gathered once again to revisit this heritage through the teachings of Imam Maturidi and other great scholars, viewing it from a renewed perspective.

Taking this opportunity, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Muslims of our country, I sincerely wish the esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev strong health, inexhaustible strength and energy, and great success in his noble efforts to promote spiritual values, strengthen love for the Motherland, and reinforce peace and stability both in our country and throughout the world.
