Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy: “The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan sets a new standard for museum practice across Eurasia”

A delegation led by Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, where they explored its museum exhibitions, scholarly and educational projects, and innovative museum technologies. During the visit, the minister described the Center’s museum as “a new standard for museum practice across Eurasia.”

Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan:

“The Center left me with unforgettable impressions and a profound sense of admiration and pride. This remarkable project, implemented in our brotherly Uzbekistan, is not only a significant contribution to preserving and promoting the heritage of Islamic civilization, but also an invaluable effort to safeguard and showcase the rich cultural legacy of Uzbekistan and the entire region to the world.

I would especially like to commend the successful realization of this vision and initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Everyone who contributed to bringing this ambitious project to life deserves the highest recognition. I also extend my sincere appreciation to the professional team of the Islamic Civilization Center.

In my view, the Center is setting a new benchmark for museum practice through the way it organizes its exhibitions, presents ancient artifacts and rare exhibits using contemporary approaches, and, in particular, effectively integrates cutting-edge multimedia technologies to engage younger generations.”

At the conclusion of the visit, the guest also shared his impressions in the Center’s Book of Honored Guests:

“A visit to the Center leaves an unforgettable impression. It is a unique cultural, historical, and tourist destination for the entire Islamic world and, I am convinced, for multicultural Uzbekistan.

The integration of unique historical artifacts and exhibits with state-of-the-art multimedia technologies represents a truly outstanding achievement for museum practice across Eurasia. The Center’s staff deserve special appreciation and recognition.”

At the end of the visit, members of the delegation were presented with commemorative gifts from the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.

This visit marks another important step toward strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, preserving their shared civilizational heritage, and promoting it more broadly on the international stage.
