Representative of the Pakistani delegation: Uzbekistan is creating a modern model for preserving the heritage of Islamic civilization
As part of the International Forum of Sister Cities held in the city of Samarkand, Muhammad Umair, a representative of the Pakistani delegation visiting Uzbekistan, toured the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. After exploring the Center’s architectural concept, museum exhibitions, and interactive solutions powered by digital technologies, he noted that the efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan to preserve, scientifically study, and present the nation’s and the Islamic world’s heritage through innovative approaches deserve international recognition.
“First of all, I would like to express my deep respect and appreciation for this initiative of the Government of Uzbekistan. The great respect shown here for the country's historical and cultural heritage, along with the establishment of a comprehensive scholarly approach to its study and presentation, is truly commendable. This Center is of great importance not only for local visitors but also for religious tourism, as well as for students and history enthusiasts interested in the history of the Muslim world. Every aspect of the museum is unique. I was particularly impressed by the way modern technologies have been integrated into the interpretation and presentation of historical information. I would recommend every young person and student interested in history, their roots, and their culture to visit this Center. It deserves sufficient time to be explored thoroughly, and I am confident that such a visit will be both meaningful and highly rewarding,” said Muhammad Umair.
The Pakistani delegate also emphasized that cultural and educational institutions of this kind play a vital role in bringing together different countries and peoples through their shared historical heritage. According to him, the Center’s exhibitions highlight the historical connections linking the Indian subcontinent, Pakistan, Central Asia, and Africa, including the legacy of the Silk Road civilization, thereby contributing to stronger intercultural dialogue and international cooperation.
