At the beginning of the ceremonial celebration held in Tashkent on July 30 to mark Peoples’ Friendship Day, the congratulatory message sent by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on the occasion of the holiday was read out to the participants.

The President’s message was delivered by Khayriddin Sultanov, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In his congratulatory address, the Head of State emphasized that Peoples’ Friendship Day is a blessed occasion that serves to further strengthen such noble values as peace and tranquility, interethnic harmony, religious tolerance, and solidarity prevailing in our country. He noted that representatives of more than 130 nations and ethnic groups, as well as 16 religious denominations, live together in harmony like members of one family and make a worthy contribution to the development of New Uzbekistan, stressing that such national and cultural diversity is one of the country's greatest assets.

The message also highlighted that, in recent years, large-scale reforms have been carried out in the field of interethnic relations under the noble principle, “Our strength lies in unity and solidarity.” It was emphasized that a solid legal framework has been established in this sphere, elevating it to a qualitatively new level.

Furthermore, it was noted that 153 national cultural centers and 36 friendship societies are currently operating effectively across the country, contributing to the strengthening of harmony among peoples. Educational institutions conduct classes in seven languages, television and radio channels broadcast programs in twelve languages, and newspapers and magazines are published in fourteen languages. These achievements were recognized as a practical manifestation of the broad opportunities created for representatives of all nations and ethnic groups in our country.

In his congratulatory message, the President noted that further strengthening relations with neighboring countries based on friendship, mutual trust, and respect, expanding cultural and humanitarian ties, and promoting people’s diplomacy are among the key priorities of New Uzbekistan's foreign policy.

At the same time, he emphasized the invaluable role of art and culture in bringing representatives of different nationalities closer together and announced plans to establish the professional “Do‘stlik” ensemble and relaunch the renovated “Alisher Navoiy” television channel in a new format.

In conclusion, the Head of State sincerely congratulated all compatriots on Peoples’ Friendship Day and stressed that preserving the atmosphere of peace and stability, interethnic harmony, and religious tolerance in the country is the sacred duty of every one of us. The President wished all citizens good health, family happiness, prosperity, and great success in their dedicated efforts for the development and prosperity of our Motherland.
