An international conference titled “National Unity – The Driving Force of the New Uzbekistan Development!” is currently taking place at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan in Tashkent.

Welcoming the participants, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, expressed his gratitude to the foreign guests visiting the country, as well as to representatives of international organizations, the diplomatic corps, state and public institutions, academic circles, and civil society organizations.

“The fact that today’s international conference is dedicated to strengthening interethnic harmony, religious tolerance, and civic solidarity makes it particularly significant. These values are among the most important factors in ensuring the sustainable development of any state, as well as peace and unity within society,” said Firdavs Abdukhalikov.

As emphasized in the speech, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, elevating human dignity, ensuring interethnic harmony, strengthening the atmosphere of religious tolerance, and fostering mutual respect and trust among representatives of different nations and ethnic groups have become key priorities of state policy in New Uzbekistan.

As noted, in 2017, the Head of State presented these noble principles to the international community from the podium of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, emphasizing that tolerance, enlightenment, and mutual respect are among the most important prerequisites for global peace and sustainable development. It was pointed out that today these initiatives have become not only a fundamental principle of the country’s development, but also a practical policy that is strengthening Uzbekistan’s standing in the international arena.

In his speech, Firdavs Abdukhalikov emphasized that the ideological concept of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is also founded on these very values.

“The Center’s exposition presents the three-thousand-year history of civilization that developed in the territory of Uzbekistan as an integrated whole, viewed through the prism of dialogue, solidarity, and interaction among peoples, cultures, and religions,” he said.

It was also emphasized that the joint projects, international conferences, and cultural initiatives implemented by the Center are contributing to the promotion of Uzbekistan’s rich civilizational heritage to the global community and to strengthening mutual trust and solidarity among nations.

Concluding his speech, the Director of the Center expressed confidence that the international conference would serve as an important platform for the exchange of ideas and experience, the promotion of new initiatives, and the further development of dialogue among countries and peoples.

“The history of Uzbekistan teaches us a profound truth: the strongest foundation of civilization and progress is peace, mutual respect, tolerance, and enlightenment. Preserving this invaluable heritage, passing it on to future generations, and promoting it throughout the world is our shared responsibility,” Firdavs Abdukhalikov concluded.
